I'm looking for partners to share ownership of a power boat.

Pictures and details about the boat can be see here: http://www.boattrader.com/listing/200 ... ay-270-Sundancer-97469395.

You can see what similar boats are selling for here: http://www.boattrader.com/search-resu ... /Make-Sea%20Ray/Length-27,27/Year-2000,2000/More-all/Model-Sundancer/Sort-Price:ASC/

It's my boat, and I cannot afford to keep it by myself, but I would be able to afford to keep it if I had two partners to divide the costs in three.

Each partner would pay $9,916,67 towards the purchase of a one-third interest in the boat, and also one-third of the annual operating costs (which would equal about $5,000 for each owner) to cover dockage and winter dry dockage at Liberty Landing Marina, winterization and spring launch costs, insurance, and general maintenance.

I think this is the best and most affordable way to enjoy a boat in this area.

Email me at bds@schundler.org if you are interested in this.

You conveniently left off the fact that how quickly a Boat depreciates in Value and therefore when the honeymoon between all 3 partners is over and you go to sell it, your lucky if you get 1/3 of your investment back and thats if your lucky....

You should provide all details !

Yeah, what you should do is hire a seer and have them create a detailed future history of everything that will happen to the boat from now until the universe implodes and the elements within each plank are wiped out in a cataclysm of atomic energy. It's only fair.

You quoted only half the sentence from the wikipedia article. By accident, I am sure.

"U.S. population growth is among the highest in industrialized countries,[7] since the vast majority of these have below-replacement fertility rates and the U.S. has higher levels of immigration."

So, are you purposely misrepresenting the facts, or are you suffering from the lack of education you accuse me of?

Or are you simply anti-immigration?

So you don't stand by the stupid Vonnegut quote?

In any case, to all you PATH defenders -

How can there be ANY circumstance, 40 years after man landed on the MOOOOOOOOOOOOON, that a TRAIN in an UNDERGROUND TUBE - an almost PERFECTLY CONTROLLED environment, should SLAM ON THE TRAIN BRAKES.

Day after day, some inept driver slams on some train brakes. Why? What possible defense could you have? You can't tell me that there is imminent danger - say, an alligator on the tracks. IS there not some system of gradation that could make the trains less dangerous? That could make the stops less abrupt? I think of the elderly, cruelly denied a seat by the inconsideration of young hoodlums and yuppies, being thrown about like bags of bones. I think of the pregnant mother, similarly seatless via the myopia of our age, falling to her belly and miscarrying. I think of the moron who brings his bicycle onto the train during rush-hour, now smashing the bike into the bare legs of short-skirted ladies, snagging flesh and stocking in chain and gear. Why is this carnage not addressed? Why are the supposedly humanistic and liberal denizens of JCLIST so quick to turn a blind eye to the sufferings and injustices perpetrated against the PATH riders by a cruel and uncaring OVERLORD - the PANY/NJ?

Will no one stand up for the rights of the oppressed?

If there is enough demand to cross the Hudson, private industry will meet the demand.

The idea that NJ will turn into a domed ghost state because this tunnel doesn't get built is beyond the pale of stupid.

I chalk it up to invincible ignorance that despite the massive, constant failures and corruption of government, Chicken Little's still call apocalypse if that same bloated, inefficient, un-creative gubmint isn't given carte blanche to vacuum the money out of the taxpayers pockets.

What would be better would be a private/public partnership with actual accountability to the taxpayers, created as a short-term organization to solve the supposed transportation problems.

There seem to be much cheaper solutions than diggin' a new tunnel as well. Why, for instance, can't they simply run more trains? With advances in GPS and robotics, why not automate the trains? Let computers run them at closer intervals and higher speeds. Just one of a million solutions that don't involve the dumb-ass solution of "dig another hold George, gotta dig another hole."

And if they ARE gonna dig a tunnel, why not add a space for pedestrains, for a light-rail connection, and a bus lane? Stupid stupid stupid and shortsighted.

JC maybe, but as a whole NJ drivers are fine. The Turnpike is a great safe road to drive on.

Massachusetts drivers are terrible - with the pulling out in front and tailgating. Washington DC is a poorly dressed testosterone fest. LA traffic jams are caused by threats of rain and curves in the highway. The entire 95 corridor from below the Delaware Memorial Bridge through to Atlanta is a never ending stream of entitlement and stupidity.

Jersey City is bad because native Jersey City people are inbred.

If the PATH were interested in safety, the trains wouldn't throw people around like ragdolls. Ride on the DC Metro, for instance, and let me know when you get tossed. Never happens.

It's nice that they clean out the crap at point A or Z, but those of us riding in the middle get sticky feet, yesterday's news, today's vomit, and the ever-fun game of "kick the can."

I'd much rather the cars were COATED in graffitto and ran more often then wasting time taking tagged cars out of commission.

As for cheap, it's about half the cost of driving, which, if timed right, is a much more pleasant experience than the PATH ever is.

uh the path was built like 70 years before the DC metro, of course it won't be as smooth. the path is already cleaner, cheaper, and more pleasant than the MTA like many others have said in this thread and that's good enough for me. if i go to work from my girlfriend's place in brooklyn there's a delay almost every time and i'm late by at least ten minutes. on the path i haven't been late due to a delay in months.

Not that either of our anecdotes are worth anything, but I ride the PATH and the L daily on roughly equivalent trips, and the L is ALWAYS on time, a much smoother ride, and a much cleaner and more pleasant experience overall.

As for the PATH being bumpy due to age, you do realize that the LEVEL has existed for thousands of years, and that buildings have been constructed to not topple over since at least the pyramids. Furthermore, the NYC Subway, which as far as I know predates the PATH, is pretty jostle-free comparatively. I don't know why the PATH has such a bumpy ride, but to blame it on it being a a hundred years old is proof of historical ignorance.

So you propose they stop the trains mid-trip to clean them? Wouldn't that just create more delays? Also, it is the passengers that cause this mess.....not the Port Authority employees.

If you want people to respect the cleanliness of the trains, the trains should look respectable. Despite the amount of grime you already deal with inside the cars, imagine how much worse it would be if the trains looked just like trash cans on the outside.

Just saying.

Reading comprehension not your strong suit, eh? I never said that trains should be taken out of commission - I made the point that a clean car at Newark doesn't do much good for those of us at Harrison, JSQ, Grove, Newport, 9th, 14th, 23rd, or 33rd. Somebody else said that trains ARE taken out of commission for graffito.

BTW - Is Kurt Vonnegut only PRETENDING to be a rotting skeleton?

1. So did our current science czar. Although he proclaimed that contraceptives should be placed in the water supply to curb the bugbear of overpopulation.

On the matter of those who do not make $30,000, if they have two kids they will START to pay taxes even on salaries of $5,000 each because they will each lose $20,000 of their deduction giving them NO deductions (minus ten grand per kid per parent.)

For those who think the planet can support 20 or 30 billion people, go read your bible becasue its simpleminded enough for you to comprehend.

Yeah, totally, because instituting a tax-based deterrent in the US, a country with basically zero population growth (like most first world industrialized countries, which have zero or negative population growth) will certainly have a GLOBAL effect on the supposed problem of overpopulation, which isn't any way centered in the famously bible-reading, right wing Christian countries like China and India.

Please, regale us with some more of your brilliant plans for global governance, because we're all obviously dumber than you.

Wait, who ever called cops heroes? And we PAY when the cop on duty sits in his car DRINKING through his whole construction shift and then shows up with a hangover and a shitty attitude the next day.

A well-armed populace would be 1000x better than a group of uneducated sanctioned thugs any day. Which goes to show how bad the state of affairs is!

They'd be better off cutting the entire police force and handing every JC citizen a loaded glock and a switchblade.

Re: No left turn from the the tunnel exit to Marin Blvd

My guess would be that people in the right lane cutting across the second the double yellow Holland Tunnel lines break to get to Marin makes the coppers nervous.

Conversely, all the extra traffic on Manila is going to make it absolutely unlivable.

I can't think of any way this could possibly be any worse, nor can I think of anyway to fix it short of blocking turns to both Manila and Marin and forcing the traffic into some sort of rotary that would loop them back into Marin, leaving Manila gloriously free of any traffic, at which point it could be converted into an open-air pedestrian friendly market.

Actually, the rotary would be great.

Re: PATH (pathetic attempt at transporting humans)

I've always thought it would be interesting to organize a "PATH boycott day."

Basically, to come up with three practical things that would make PATH better, and pick a day a month to keep the trains empty until those three demands were met. I'm sure some local bus companies would gladly run buses for the guaranteed full buses all day, and you could just keep slamming the PATH until they go so far in the red they'll have to either cut service or streamline their awful organization.

Conversely, a bus company that would somehow ape the PATH route would make an absolute killing. Like, if the jitney's ran to 9th street, and picked up along GROVE or MARIN, I'd take it without hesitation over the PATH.

True. But I think JC remains one of the most diverse spots in the greater NYC area. I've seen more affluent people moving downtown the past decade or so, but the racial and ethnic diversity is still there. I can still tell which PATH train I've just missed at 23rd Street simply by looking at who's left on the platform.

True, although the differences have gotten more and more blurred over the past 5 years or so. But yeah ... the surefire way to determine what train you just missed is to look for Indian people....there are like 0 in Hoboken, and tons in JC.

Indian people like to live amongst each other sort of tribal. However there are Indians everywhere in little crevices of America and England. I heard one Indian wanted to buy MGM for billions, and others have their hand in businesses that touch our lives especially the computer industry they work for cheap. If it weren't for the Country of England and IBM & Bill Gates India would still be in poverty. Jersey City still has pockets of diversity people tend to stay in their own clicks. Associating with only their "own kind" such as clubs, groups, interests, jobs, food, entertainment, and neighborhoods. I only notice the Jersey City that I dwell in ignoring other aspects of town. We all want to be with our own...cut of cloth it's the way we were raised.

I'm certainly not saying that the police are correct. However, like every other monopoly in this country (the RIAA, etc) special-interests like the Police can use government money to crush private citizens who stand up against them. While making a moral stand is admirable, I'll stick to my original advice, make all the more applicable by the ghoast of the Abner Louima case - watch your ass. Cops are no longer the civil servants of the 1950s. They are a state-sanctioned gang of mostly low-intelligence thugs.
