The pool is nice, and you have the added advantage of a pond, like when Irene flooded the area, and Sandy - what will 2013's flood be named?

Between FB twitter and other local websights like NJ.com and weirdos there is a nice catfight between Ray Velazquez and Steven Fulop!

In addition, the required curriculum is so rigorous (6 years of English, four years of math and four years of science, etc.) that there is less room for electives. And Phys Ed is a letter grade, not just pass fail. You can actually fail PE if you can't identify the line of scrimmage or the 3 point rule.
Again, just full disclosure.

What the hell? How does that have anything to do with Phys Ed? Do they have to memeorize batting averages or who wone the World Cup? Phys Ed should be learning how to build and support a healthy active lifestyle, not learning st00pid ball game rules.

I am putting a blog together for dive bars here in JC. Has any one been to O'Abbey's Corner Grill & Pub or Bayside Tavern? These spots are next on my list of places to try... Actually West side has quite a few on my list.

Cheers!

There already is one, it can't be mentioned here though.

Hate is a weak emotion, devoid of intellect.

It is based on ignorance and fear.

You've found a home here.

Perhaps Fulop didn't want a second Jew on his ticket - just an hypothesis - I've never heard this stated. I'm making an assumption based on Levin's last name and that Healy called him Levine. On the other hand Konstantine was Russian Orthodox.

The kids on the ball courts are also leaving trash behind. So I guess their ill behavior sets the standard for the dog groomers, who also don't know any better.

PICK IT UP AND PACK IT OUT.

The best thing I read all week, how Fulop's campaign was pitched by the shrill shill, I guess JCFree feels some vengeance going after him in this utterly transparent smear sponsored by Jerry's Kids.
It's painful to read the troll's posts -- to think it's getting paid for this crap.
Now if you silly people would just stop feeding the troll!

Please. You/we live under the flight path of the nation's first international airport in the 2nd busiest aviation hub on this planet (don't ask me about the others).
Consider yourself lucky that R29 is not always so active for the the big boys.

If you're really concerned and want to dog them check out the tracker at http://aviationdevelopmentcouncil.org/F_Tracking.html

Re: Local running tracks

I don't know what you consider 'local' but here goes:

Lincoln Park has an official 400m rubberturf track.

Pershing Field is 1/3 mile, hardpacked cinder, uneven with puddles.

Ferris HS on Montgomery/Brunswick has a squared off rubberturf, older surface that holds some puddles, and is 4 1/2 laps to a mile.

Obviously there are greenways parks etc but there is no substitute for knowing your true speed when doing pace/intervals.

Seriously?
The cop behind the desk couldn't be bothered to answer, "Well, I don't know, why don't we check? What's your name? Care for a cup of coffee? Why don't you sit down over here in this nice chair with the special bracelets."

But the cop was doing his job, according to the strictest interpretation of the minimum required duties assigned to him/her that day - to get thru another shift in hell.

No, that's true, the Silvermans bought and paid for the naming rights to the Hamilton Square Park, just like the Prudential, Red Bull and Continental, err, whatever arenas.

And it's Enos Jones Rectangle Recreation Field and Mary Benson Triangle Chromolly Lead Playground, also.

Get with it old-timer.

Re: Bus Stop 8th & West Hamilton

GRRRR rant on/

The bus stops are defined by DOT standards for the safety of motorists, passengers and pedestrians. I will not excuse the ignorance of the patrolmen writing tickets in violation of the signs, but I will defend the rights of people, less able than you and I, to have a bus stop near enough to help them to work.

There is one gentleman on 8th street I have seen who rides to the PATH at Newport, he relies on a cane; there is also a lady who has suffered some affliction severely degrading her mobility, she is also using help to do what you and I never think of, simply walking.

When I've taken the 126 into town I've seen people ride to the PATH who should be ASHAMED.

I must say the degree of empathy displayed by the average poster here is tight up there with Chris Krispie's feelings for those in our society less well -off than the typical privileged blanco - near nil. Shame on you!

/end rant

A drowned river, so to speak. Yes, the tides run up to the Federal Dam at Troy, and the river drains to the bay/ocean, so the net flow is north to south, but the currents run all kinds of ways, I read somewhere once a log would take a full year to carry from Albany to the ocean.
Any news on when/how the right wing tip managed to get shorn off? Typical Jersey City parking damage.

My boyfriend grabbed two seats the other night, when I got there he'd already finsished the octopus and ordered the fluke, I enjoyed that, almost like sushi.
I had the poussin {sp?}which was a bit pink for my tastes, he inhaled the skate like the sea monster he is, but he left most of the potatoes for me - YUM!
He grabbed some wine from the snooki-free place next door, I don't drink that much but I bet the restuarant will do better when they can make a mojito for me!
Overall, me Likey very much! And Alex is very nice, too.
