How is it that so many places outside of newark avenue get around this. One example that comes to mind is the powerhouse that opend next to 0'Haras

It is really quite ridiculous. For years when exiting the turnpike you could make a right on Montgomery Street or continue to Columbus. Roughly 5 yrs. ago they paved the majority of the roads here. You should have seen them prior to that! For whatever reason the city in it's wisdom decided to re-route all the traffic on Montgomery to Columbus(one of the few last roads that were unpaved. Brillant! I asked Fulop about this once and he avoided the question. Some people have speculated it has something to do with eliminating the traffic cutting through the city. Like with a one way Washington street I have no idea how this helps.

Guys,
I was just trying to see if anyone else had such an experience and whether it was something to be concerned about. I was unable to be sure of what kind of animal it was since I did not get close enough to retrieve a DNA sample. Maybe those who are critical would like to come back with me so we can. As people have pointed out it doesn't matter whether they are "feral" dogs wolves, coyotes, or dingoes they all pose a threat to humans and pets. I have two rather large dogs that we were in the park with and the "animals" were not at all afraid to make their presence known. When my wife first spotted them she was wise enough to remove our first dog before he noticed. Had he seen them and responded it could have been a bad situation. Unfortunately she lost our keys in the process. We took the dogs across the street, tied them up and went back to look for the keys. Once we did the "animals" came back actually circling us around the parameter of the field. We decided to leave the keys and head back across Morris Pensin Dr. As I stood across the street they continued to come closer. I was surprised as how even a couple passing cars did not seem to bother them. I was able to take some pictures if I can figure out how I will post. I reported the incident to the Park and was told that the park officers would be notified. I had always heard stories of wild dogs living in JC but not once did the Park Office mention that this could be the case. These animals were roughly 80-100 lbs. a couple reddish in color and at least one black/grey

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone here has had a similar experiance to ours. Today while playing with our dogs near LSP we encountered a pack of about 4 wolves on the north side of Morris Pensin Drive. We quickly left the area but the wolves did not shy away instead circled the field we had just left coming very close to the road on which cars were traveling which suprised me. I am wondering if anyone has had a similar experiance.

"It's not a freeway. There's rarely more than 2 or 3 craft per square mile."
I thought you were a sailor. If you have ever been out in those waters in 1 sq. mile of the Statue there are at least 10-15 boats. There are at least 3 tour boats not to mention ferrys around there constantly. I could easily see a case where the Shark tourist boat could casue a wake large enough to hide an anchored boat. That is not to say that the driver accused was not being careless, but let's face it an anchored boat can not move out iof it's own way. There are reasons what is it not allowed.

It sounds as if the Shark Tourist boat cause the accident. I have been out there and that thing it a havoc. The article also says the small boat was anchored which unfortunatley probably had a lot to do with the collision.

About 15 yrs. ago I heard that Maryland Bluecrabs would be extinct in 10 yrs. due to pesticides uses by local farmers. I take all that info with a grain of salt.

You can head up to Jersey Ave and stop at Marrow deli. A little further from the path but worth it. The owner used to work at A-1 and then opened his own place a really nice guy. He serves the same boarshead cold cuts cheaper and in my opinion fresher bread. He even offers a whole wheat sub roll and a some other harder roll. It always irritated me when A-1 would charge a different price then on the board then tell you it was for pickels or something.

BUT, the landlord is a piece of shit. he tripled the rent on the Rustique owners AFTER he built an incredible oven, and then took over his space only to open a new pizza place.
After hearing this I spoke to one of the workers at he new La Rustique. He flatly denied that their move had anything to do with the Landlord. He went on to say that the new ovens are a 100 times better then the old one and that he had to be careful that he did not burn himself pulling pizzas from the old oven. Where do you get your info?

My assessment is just under 200K and my taxes are just under 12K.
I get so frustrated with people complaining about property tax abatements. Since 90% of the homes in Jc have an assessed value well below their actual value why should new constructuion be taxed on their full value?

the cops were investigating these people. they knew they were criminals. presumably, when they went to arrest them, they got fired upon. i dont know what more they could have done to get the 'bad element' out than what they already did.
Maybe if the cops didn't have to go through all the red tape and bs involved with charging these crimials they could have just gone in and suprised them. If you ask me the criminals have too many rights. I am sure they both have prior convictions!
