Re: Rep. Albio Sires Just Sold You Out to Comcast, Verizon and AT&T

Here is some relevant information I found.

I understand your concerns for not standing with the FCC without reading the details. Yet, I don't see why you would agree with the corporation after seeing the proof that profits are more important than the free flow of information. Haven't you been around to see the disaster that is Wall Street today? Do you think the ISP's would treat this as anything else other than a cash hose?
That is quite contradictory on your part, in my opinion.

------------------------------------------------------------------

THE IMPORTANCE OF ?NET NEUTRALITY?

Background: ?Net neutrality? is the term used to describe the concept of keeping the
Internet open to all lawful content, information, applications, and equipment. There is
increasing concern that the owners of the local broadband connections (usually either the
cable or telephone company) may block or discriminate against certain Internet users or
applications in order to give an advantage to their own services. While the owners of the
local network have a legitimate right to manage traffic on their network to prevent
congestion, viruses, and so forth, they should not be able to block or degrade traffic based
on the identity of the user or the type of application solely to favor their interests.
Legislation is under review in Congress that would ensure that the Internet remains open.
The following are some proposed points to make to legislators and their staff as Congress
considers this issue.

Important Points

1. Net neutrality is fundamentally important to allowing universities fulfill
their educational mission. Universities? goal is to deliver high-quality
multimedia instructional material to as many students as possible,
including off-campus students and those in rural areas. The widespread
availability of open, affordable broadband communications makes
distance learning more accessible and effective.

2. Universities? Internet research laboratories could be undermined if the
Internet is not open to innovation and experimentation. Universities are
developing next-generation Internet technologies that will drive the
Internet economy. If Internet service providers are allowed to inhibit or
degrade these research activities, the United States could lose its
leadership role in the creation of Internet-based technologies.

3. The rapid innovation that brought us e-mail, the World Wide Web,
interactive online services, and e-commerce depends on an Internet that
provides reliable and effective transport for all types of traffic. This
critical innovation at the edges of the network will be stifled if network
providers are allowed to block or degrade traffic in the middle.

4. The Internet was designed to be open and available to everyone, which is
why it has been so powerful and successful. The Internet was not intended
to be under the control of any one party; its value is that it can facilitate
communications and the free flow of information around the world.
"Tollbooths and gatekeepers are the exact opposite of what the Internet is
all about," said Michael J. Copps, a Democratic commissioner at the
Federal Communications Commission. "Down that route consumers can
count on paying more and getting less ? less content, fewer services and
reduced innovation."

5. Cable and telephone companies have the ability and incentive to skew
Internet use toward their own services. They are supposed to be
transparent carriers of broadband services, as noted by Vint Cerf in a letter
to Congressmen Joe Barton and John Dingell on November 8, 2005:
?Telephone companies cannot tell consumers who they can call; network
operators should not dictate what people can do online.? Recently,
however,
a. a telephone company blocked its broadband customers from using
VoIP telephone service because it could take revenue away from the
company?s phone services;
b. a cable company ordered consumers working from home to stop using
their broadband connection to log into their employer?s virtual private
network and tried to sell them a higher-priced alternative service;
c. an Internet provider in Canada blocked access to a Web site run by the
labor union involved in a dispute with the ISP; and
d. the CEO of SBC told Business Week that companies such as Google,
Yahoo, and Vonage would not be permitted to connect to SBC
broadband customers without additional compensation to SBC.

6. Cable and telephone companies have a legitimate right to manage their
networks to prevent congestion, viruses, or other illegal uses. This right to
manage the network, however, should be narrow and should not allow the
cable and phone companies to pick and choose among certain users or
applications.

7. Congress should adopt a strong principle that ensures that the Internet is
open to all lawful uses and should establish strong penalties to enforce this
principle.

Rep. Albio Sires Just Sold You Out to Comcast, Verizon and AT&T
#64
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

Rep. Albio Sires has joined 73 other Democrats in signing an industry-written letter telling the FCC to abandon its efforts to protect Internet users and stop big companies from blocking Internet traffic.

That Rep. Sires would intentionally sell out the public may be hard to imagine. Perhaps these representatives didn?t know what they were signing. Or perhaps this is just business as usual, another D.C. betrayal of the public trust. (Is it any wonder the latest Gallup public opinion poll counts a congressional disapproval rating of 73 percent?)

These members of Congress acted on blind faith that phone and cable companies have the best interests of Americans in mind.

But Comcast and AT&T can no better police themselves to protect the open Internet than BP can police itself to protect the oceans. And we already know how that's going!

Its not a glamorous assignment but its easier than being assigned to Hudson St. where yuppie idiots ask ridiculous questions all day instead of minding their own business. Your picture was obviously taken in the morning or afternoon which means the officer is on the day tour. This means the officer has at a minimum 14 years in patrol. At the time you wandered through private property for whatever reason, this officer was not assigned a call of which he will respond to 12 in an average day. Most calls are generated by people with limited problem solving abilities and even less common sense. Riding around only increases your chances of encountering a moron. Mind your own business and get a life." Thanks so much for what you officers do to keep us safe and at least try to keep our neighborhoods clean from this scum. GOD BLESS YOU AND PROTECT YOU & KEEP YOU ALL SAFE!!

Re: SEC charges Goldman Sachs with fraud on CDO's tied to subprime mortgages

A man walks up to a bar and says to the barman, "You see that glass at the end of the bar? I'll bet you $100 I can piss into it from here." The barman figures this be the easiest hundred bucks he will ever make and says, "you're on!" So the man whips it out, takes aim, and completely fails to get a single drop anywhere even near the glass. he then happily pays up. As the barman pockets the money, he says, "You didn't even come close, why would you make such a stupid bet?" The man replies, "See that idiot over there in the corner, banging his head against the wall? I just bet him $1,000 that you would let me piss all over your bar!" And that, my friends, is the story of Goldman Sachs. Not only did Goldman Sachs profit on betting against CDO's that they themselves designed to fail; more importantly, they insured them through AIG, which lead to our bailing them out to the tune of 182 billion! This is criminal folks, these crooks are NOT TOO BIG TO JAIL!

You need to do some serious reading if you think that the banksters "are not stealing from us" every single day. Including today and tomorrow also. These Wall Street criminals, banksters, gangsters, crooks, whatever name I'd like to call them, have leveraged OUR LIVES to the tune of over 500 TRILLION DOLLARS! You can blame the people all you want for bullshit "entitlements, welfare, food stamps, living beyond their means, blah, blah, blah," but the truth of the matter is that CORPORATE WELFARE is destroying this country, not the people. When companies like General Electric, Exxon, Mobil, announce that they are paying NO TAXES this year and actually getting billions back in refunds, it means you need to read a book sometimes. Oh, by the way, I read that. That being said, it is noted that only 3% of Americans read books, yourself excluded, of course.

This is the largest transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich in history! Here is what the banksters are doing to us to make major changes in America. In 1960, the ratio between the earnings of the top 20% and the bottom 20% was 30:1. By 1990 this had risen to 61:1, and by 1997 to 74:1. As of 2007, it's now 83:1. The idea is to create a 3rd world type country where there is no middle class. With no middle class, banksters and friends will have all the servants they need so they can live a leisure and morally correct lives, which also makes them very patriotic. The rest of us are a "cancer to society" because we believe that we should be entitled to a decent job, with a decent wage, and even maybe a decent retirement. Who ever said we were entitled to any of that? Now that the banksters are stealing loads of cash from us, it's time for us to shut our mouths, because if we don't, they will strive to make the ratio 95:1, then we can all get on soup lines and they can decide which ones get the soup, without the bread. It's too late folks, we got what we asked for at the voting booth over the last 30 years. Hope you are all having fun watching american idol. There are only a few episodes left.

The BGGS part you were told is called "baloney".

There is no such company.

To put it simply, the charge on your bill called "bggs charge", is actually called a "balancing charge" within the utility job environment. See, PSEG has to place "reservations", sort of like paying a fee for "balancing" an estimated amount of what energy we will be needing in the upcoming months. They estimate that usage based on your last years usage. PSEG simply passes the cost that they are charged to make sure we have what we need based on how we use the services.
All these prices are figured out in Wall Street, not good!

Lady That Guilty, Drunk JCPD "officer" Hit, Dies Today... : (

A good friend of mines sister, Ruth Zelaya, passed away today from injuries she received 3 years ago, when a drunk "cop", the mayors cousin, who had 3 suspended license violations from the Jersey City Police Dept., crashed into the back of her vehicle at high speed. The crash had previously killed her 2 year son. Please keep the family in your prayers! Just a quick note. It says here that the guilty party will not be given any additional criminal charges due to a prior agreement in the plea bargain. I am looking for similar cases everywhere online and I can't seem to find anything like this type of agreement where a prosecutor says there will be no additional charges if the "person dies". That to me is INSANE!!!!!!!!!! Can we just call this "Corrupt, Hudson County Justice"? It sure doesn't appear to have happened anywhere else! He will only serve at least 6 years for the death of 2 people??? It's UNREAL!!!!!!! http://www.nj.com/hudson/index.ssf/20 ... _guilty_to_killing_2.html

A similar thing happened to my wife like 15 years ago in the same area. She was coming back from Hudson Camera, like 5:30 pm. She called me quickly from a pay phone and told me a man was following her, within minutes, I was there and giving chase!

He ran because he saw me coming and knew he was guilty and what his intentions were towards my lady.

There was only one problem............

I didn't realize that he had some ancestors who were deer.

Even though I was in great shape, this guy flew either because he smelled the ass whipping coming or he REALLY did have some deer in his immediate family.

This lady belongs in Washington as a 350K per year lobbyist for the Legal Theft Industry that is going on right now.

She would surely relish the thought of throwing people out of their foreclosed homes, raiding the treasury for corporate welfare bailouts, making sure we are safe by stealing billions and saying those amounts are "off budget", you know, all the legal stuff that goes on in Washington every day.
