a wee bit dramatic, no? the city has a long way to go before that happens -- and it won't. there are still plenty of areas in JC for people lamenting that long lost era. or there is newark or camden. or paterson.

Be careful! All jokes aside I paid bail last night for contempt of court. Mine didn't say anything, just had drawings of penises next to the name of the parking pig and a hairy assh*le on the back of the envelope.

Hilarious!

Next time, just write, "sexual favors" in the memo.

I've come up with a better plan for next time because I doubt that they check each ticket for traces of human/cat waste.

You must feel such a surge of confidence now that you know that your drinking water won't mix with the sprinkler water. For a mere $12,000 mmm mmm good. Did you have to connect this bad boy to a landline that leads to the fire department in case you have a fire?

Went to the parade two years ago, dumbest decision ever. If you are okay with a whole bunch of people bumping/touching/yelling and otherwise totally invading your space go for it.

Daniel A. D?Alessandro
3279 Kennedy Boulevard
Jersey City, NJ 07306

I picked him based on price after calling several attorneys recommended to me by DelForno. The entire closing procedure (for the seller's end) costs $700. Not sure how much it would be if you are a buyer.

Have you tried the Home Depot or Lowes on 440? Those are way better stocked with plants then the one near the tunnel.

You're probably being sarcastic here, but I would do exactly what you suggest. I would also, of course, investigate whether the local schools have a high percentage of kids that go on to 4-year colleges and universities, many AP or IB course offerings, and high SAT scores. But, as you probably know, there is a negative correlation between a high percentage of kids on assisted lunches and all of these measures of academic achievement so looking for not much of one probably will also lead to a lot of of the other.

No sarcasm at all. I've been checking the reduced lunch programs in all the towns we're considering moving to.

So you're a plumber? NOW I see why insist that people "just install the backflow already". For your information, we've researched cheaper quotes and they didn't comply with the city code nor did they provide the city mandated inspection. So, perhaps you fall into THAT category of plumbers.

Last time I checked, you didn't live in my building so you have have no clue what range our quotes were in. Also, I bet you didn't attend the city hall meeting regarding this issue. So again, you don't know what others were quoted. But hey, I'm an idiot. Educate me.

Thanks the city of Jersey City. After we've moved half of our things out, our buyer's mortgage commitment was cancelled due to the lack of clarity on the backflow preventer issue. So not only do we have to install a completely useless device, but we are now stuck living here for another 2-3 years because we'll never get a better offer. I f*cking hate this town.

I know it will be little consolation, but be assured that
you are not alone in hating this town.
Mostly everybody does.

This backflow preventer thing is a great example of
JC"s ever more inventive creepiness. I want a totally new council
(excepting Fulop -- the only one who deserves being out of jail.)
And keep a lookout: Schundler wants back in. Good Grief!

What we need is a backflow preventer against JC
career politicians and drones. They're the real sewage around here.

Actually, knowing that other people hate it here as much as I do is sort of consoling. I think we should start a support group. I will bring piles of JC memorabilia such as lottery tickets, empty beer bottles, Healy and Smith's election signs and plumbing devices that were deemed useless. Then we'll do target practice with these items using a rifle from Wal-Mart. The target practice should come in handy as our police force is shrinking...oh and there's always 2012 when we'll need to shoot mayan zombies.

There has been a bike chained and locked around our tree for a week now. No one has moved it or claimed it. Is there someplace this can be reported to, so they can saw off the chain and impound the bike? I don't know if police handles this sort of thing.

why should they feel embarrassed? a feeling of embarrassment implies that one is doing something incorrectly. what, besides the fact that 2 posters on here disagree, is incorrect about using a credit card to pay for a $1 purchase?

It's a nuisance to the people standing in line behind you.
