Has anyone ever noticed how many permit handicap parking spaces exist on 4th between Jersey and Erie. I don't know how legitimate they really are but I recall almost all of north side of the street is permit handicap and a few on the south side are as well.

I have a neighbor that lives across the street from me and he has a handicap parking permit. Everyone in his entire family is capable of getting around without any assistance and don't have any medical issues. I just think he wanted a spot reserved in front of his house.

I'm going to go get a doctor's note for my own private parking spot in front of my house.

i know just who you are talking about :)

by the way, we just had one removed up towards jersey ave on the south side of the street.

Pretty amazing considering your machine was blown to smithereens just 2 hours ago. Glad it's back on though.

it was pretty weird...i have everything stored on a secondary hard drive but i was working on a spreadsheet when the surge happened....thankfully excel saved what i was doing! the computer wouldn't power back on so i thought maybe the motherboard had blown but after leaving it unplugged for a few minutes i got it to power back on after resetting all of my power strips/surge protectors. i guess that's the plus to having a home built computer, i can just swap out parts and get it kicking again if it does blow it up.

my netbook is like a little tank. it got dropped at least twice at the airport and still powers on and loads fast, so in the event my desktop crashes i at least have that as a backup.

What about where there's no marked crosswalk? doesn't that mean "cross somewhere else"? I saw an amazing feat of attempted Darwinism today, a woman pushed her stroller across Hoboken's Newark Ave at Harrison at rush hour to the NW corner. If there's a more dangerous uncontrolled intersection in JC I'd like to know (I believe its in JC). In addition to northbound cars whipping around the corner there's cars trying to turn off Harrison towards the Tpk and struggling to insert themselves into the nearly continuous stream of cars created by the Monroe, Newark & Grove intersection. This means they're turning right looking left and hitting the gas. Right where she pushed her child! Presuming she was coming from 18th st she should have crossed Jersey and come up the sidewalk at the outside of the bend. Do they need a sign saying "don't even think about crossing here"?

i had my last car totalled near that intersection on harrison at paterson ave in hoboken....taxi cab came flying up the hill trying to beat the light and hit me at over 45 mph.

if i see a pedestrian, i stop. people honk at me and want me to keep going. quite honestly, they can honk all they want. i'd rather get honked knowing that i'm keeping other a-hole drivers from mowing people over in crosswalks.

I got a bunch of them for "prohibited parking" when there were no signs on my part of the street. Too bad I too work a job that I am not allowed to call out of. Instead I just bit my tongue, paid off the tickets, and had to find a rental spot nearby for 1/2 of what I would pay monthly in parking tickets alone.

Why don't they just eliminate the Captain/Lieutenant/Sergeant ranks in the parking authority? Is there any need to have "ranks" for people who just write tickets and put boots on cars? They'd probably save themselves a decent penny if they get these guys out of the gas guzzling SUV's and back on foot where they belong. They act too much like police officers when in fact they are just civilians with ticket writing ability.

Asbury Park hands down...so easy to park, not expensive.

I also go to a dog friendly beach at Manasquan Fisherman's Cove...fun times if you've got a pup that likes water (and other dogs)

I dropped Comcast yesterday and FIOS is coming Wednesday. I couldn't be happier!

When I signed up for Comcast they couldn't set up an install for 2 whole weeks. My box never worked properly and they insisted on selling me internet and phone which I already have so I kept declining. The tech was rude, my box had trouble initializing from day 1 and I could not get On Demand or my channel listing to show after the 4th month. Since April my TV has been a guessing game while flipping because I can't memorize hundreds of channels and it's a pain to look them up on the internet because the techs never showed up to replace the box after many missed appointments.

They also wanted me to add a full package for 24.99 to be able to get the Travel channel. No Thanks.

Comcast's customer service sucks. They have no problem calling me to harass me over the last two months bills I have refused to pay since my box blew during a lightening storm and they would not replace it.

Good riddance Comcast! I took FIOS up on the TV/Internet bundle because it was the same price minus the internet.

someone up the block from me on 4th always leaves books on their stoop and they disappear all day and night. it seems to work well for them. i've taken a few world war 2 related history books from their stoop as well as a few novels which turned out to be really good books :)

I am glad that dog walkers are out at all hours here because it adds a huge measure of safety.

once it's consistently warm at night i'll do my trek to the park and back with my dog like i did last summer.

That sounds like research that I could get on board with! You should apply to the city for funding...you just might get it. They may even give you an Infiniti to get you from pizza joint to pizza joint.[/quote]

lol. maybe they can pay for the oxygen i breathe too while i ride my bike from place to place and construct my criticism.

Tried Delenio's last night.

Plain pie was delicious - thin, buttery crust, perfect balance of cheese sauce and bread.
Broccoli Raab appetizer (sun dried tomatoes and cannelini beans tossed with olive oil) was delicious.
Ceasar salas was fresh and perfectly dressed - not too soggy and croutons were HOMEMADE (awesome!)

Service was really pleasant and though I was quoted a 45 minute wait for delivery - the order was delivered within 30 minutes.

They clearly care about their food and service. We'll be ordering from them again!
