Text "Where" to 877877. It will reply asking for your address. Enter your address and it should give you your polling place. I think the papers today said there were some glitches, but that they would be corrected by Monday morning.

We got this info from HPNA
From HPNA

A volunteer emergency response hotline has been set up by the state of New Jersey so that residents can assist on the long road to recovery from Hurricane Sandy.

Call 1-800-JERSEY-7 (1-800-537-7397) to register.

The New Jersey Office of Volunteerism and AmeriCorps will match volunteers based on availability and skills, according to a statement by NJ officials.

If storm conditions prevent live operators from working the phones, volunteers can call 609-775-5236 or 908-303-0471 instead. Volunteers may also send an email to rowena.madden@sos.state.nj.us.

You could also call Fulop's office

He and his volunteers have been EVERYWHERE- making sure shelters were stocked, helping people with cleanup, getting rid of garbage and pumping water out of flooded apartments and houses.
I needed some info yesterday, emailed him and got a response within 20 minutes!
Email or call his office if you need help.

Dear pinkowitz,
You have to chose an address BELOW Erie Street, That is precisely the site I used to check. I believe we were E-20 before. (Our district includes the Roosevelt, Lincoln buildings, Park Hamilton and some of the houses on Manila and 9th Street.

The results using the site you mentioned are
Polling Place:

Can't believe it!- When I checked earlier a few weeks ago, E-5 was supposed to vote at the Cordero School, around the corner. Now our polling place has been changed AGAIN back to Holland Gardens.
Talk about fighting for your vote-- nothing like crossing two lanes of Holland Tunnel traffic to get to your polling station!
This is ridiculous!
Thanks fellow jclisters for allowing this rant.

I'm voting for both Steve Fulop and Den Levin in 2013. I'm sorry that Steve did not put Dan on his ticket ( as Dan was willing to join him), but that does not diminish my admiration for these candidates. They have shown in the past that they have the best interests of their fellow citizens and constituents in the past and I feel confident that they will continue to do do in the future.
My 2 cents, if you disagree, it's a democracy, so be it. Just remember to register and vote

This is good news, Dan. With you representing Ward E and Fulop as mayor, the citizens of Jersey City will have a good chance at ethical, transparent government. You both have fought the good fight in the past, and we who know you are confident you both will do so in the future!

Newport Pharmacy

I have gone to this pharmacy on Erie Street for years.

Recently, I got a prescription filled there. My doctor had prescribed a drug with a form that said "no substitutions". I was given a "generic" without being informed. I only found out this when I showed my medication to the doctor.

Has this happened to anyone else? They told me the pharmacist " probably forgot" to inform me it was a generic drug.

When you get prescriptions filled there, ask if you are being provided with a " generic", I certainly will, and I will also ask if this is precisely what was prescribed by my physician.

What a joke. On November's Election Day, Levin's campaign workers were parading back & forth in front of the polling location all day. It was explained that they couldn't do that, why & please don't do it again but everytime you weren't looking, there they were. Even his campaign manager, April something or other kept standing in front of the location wearing vote for buttons batting her eyes & smiling oh so demurely that she knows she shouldn't but forgot she was wearing the button. Dan is no different than the people he may be talking with.

I believe that is called "campaigning". See the law below, as long as you are 100 feet away from the polling station that is LEGAL. Please specify where you saw this violation. As far as I know, all campaign volunteers are told to be very careful about the 100 feet distance.

19:34-15. If a person shall distribute or display any circular or printed matter or offer any suggestion or solicit any support for any candidate, party or public question within the polling place or room or within a distance of one hundred feet of the outside entrance to such polling place or room, he shall be guilty of a disorderly persons offense.

Chester, reread Dan Levin's post. He said:

"I had/have advised friends and supporters also involved with Team SF that I would be interested and willing to run with him, but like last fall when my request for support/endorsement was rejected, the door on 2013 also has closed."

Steve picked someone else to run on his slate for Ward E.

No idea about this rumor, but this wouldn't bother me if it happened. I would just vote for Levin for the council seat, then consider my choices for mayor. There is nothing forcing anyone to vote for both Healy and Levin. But this will probably get lots of zombie votes for Dan.
Seems to be a similar technique that Rolando used to get on the Council.
Dan might even find a few goals that he could align with Healy on, and for the rest, they will just part ways when its time to vote.

JCmiles, I have to agree with you, I would just vote for Levin for the council seat, then consider my choices for mayor too.

Can see that this is a matter of expediency, the obvious fit for Dan would be in the Fulop campaign. But as that door is closed, and elections are expensive, then as they say," politics makes strange bedfellows".

We have had some people align themselves with odd teams before- thinking of Angel Valentin and his run for the BOE on the Fulop team- not a true meeting of minds.

Sad but necessary.
I will continue to belive in Dan as a candidate of integrity. His post concisely explains his situation-- and let's face it, he would be very good for Ward E.

Nope, you didn't receive it yet. Apparently the state sets the rate (or the maximum rate) that can be charged each quarter and the state has been particularly late this quarter in getting that out to the municipalities, or so I'm told. I've also been told by the Mayors Action Bureau that the bills must absolutely be sent out by July 31st and we will have until August 15th to pay, instead of the 10th, because they came late. Although I am loathe to believe anything I'm told from anyone in that building on Grove Street.
