Thanks. I think they are fungus gnats. Problems is I don't know where they are coming from since we don't have any indoor plants.

I am taking a ton of them out with sticky fly traps but I'd rather stop them at the source!!

We just had a tree planted in front of our house (late 2011). It was a pretty painless process...outside of forking over the $200. The JC parks dept folks were pretty nice and helpful.

Not sure if JC offers this annually. One of our neighbors forwarded us the application so 2011 was the first year that we knew about this.

I have one for each of our cars and it does help with damage casued by people who are "parking challenged." Straps sturdy and we really don't need to maintain the bumper bully. Just be advised that that the far edges are not protected but its better than nothing. My $.02

Not sure if we have fruit flies but we are having a similar problem. Can't seem to locate the source or how they are getting in. These little black flies are very annoying!!

I heard that a sprinkler system in an existing 3 unit /3 family brownstone IS NOT required, since they were there before this regulation went into effect.

However, any new 3 or more unit property IS required to have a sprinkler system.

Can anyone confirm this?

I think your price point is reasonable. For reference, I live in the Hamilton Park area (east side of the park, so the walk to either Newport or Grove is about 8-10 mins depending on your motor) and am getting $1500 for a 1BR in a brownstone/rowhouse. In decent shape, 700-750 sq ft, washer-dryer in the unit. Not a rat hole but nothing fancy either. Hope this helps.

Although JcHate's comment has some truth to it, I don't think one of our local friends tried to kidnap the dog since the accident appears to have happened outside of JC. No, I think our local friends are too busy trying to steal things that don't move......like my flower pots!

Unfortunately, I too was tagged recently for parking in a "borderline" spot. If I get too many more of these I might as well rent a spot. That would suck. I guess JC is pulling all levers to get cash, and this is an easy one.
