Twitter and that other boards' shout box have some info:

@Stephen (Steve) Fulop: Normal morning we pump 2m gallons to jc. This AM we are far above that but the water isn't surfacing so we are working to isolate it

And
UW+MUA are closing valves 2 isolate the leak-Boonton is pumping 6m gallons of water+the water isn't surfacing-we r working 2 isolate leak

So RadRyan knows which are the hot cars to steal and trambone is an expert in hot wiring/chopping for parts.

It's this quality comment that brings me back time and again.

For anyone stupid enough to give a moment's pause to their theories:

This was a carjacking, the shopping list was short, a Silver RangeRover, newer the better. These animals don't think a whole lot, and 3-4 shots were fired to overcome an unexpected response from the victim. The wingman - 16 hrs old? - got the hell out of there.

Some of you people here are shameless.

Door buzzer. "New Jersey Gas and Electric."
Let him in, for lulz.
Same binder, same cover sheet, "Oh, is that my bill?"
3x he repleated he was from/worked 'for the State,' had a crummy ID badge.
Poorly trained, his rap was loose, babbling about overcharges, rebates, intra-state taxes vs. in-state.
Escorted him out, poor puppy dog looking at the other apt's doors. "Sorry, he's not home, nope, they're not home."
Out the foyer, he was still trying, gave me one last feeble line, then tried working the outside buzzers while I glared at him.
2nd floor lady shut him down hard.
No different than Jehovah's, really.

(what the heck did they see, anyway?)

Kee-riste, I wish Silverman's would get some street opinion before they name another event/business. Remember how well received was the 'Downtown Co-op'?
All the great press about New Jersey City and they pick Sixth Borough? Like Borough Market in Southwark? Was 6th Boro taken?
What's so wrong with calling it Hamilton Flea? Something true, not invented or derived.
Oh, and please DON'T USE ALL CAPS FOR YOUR IMPORTANT PRESS RELEASES.

T-bird, for the Princely sum of $3 you can decided for yourself whether you'd enjoy the pool. And the desk clerk can answer your questions.
Honestly, I see people join gyms for hundreds of dollars and go like 1x a week. If you ever swim more than once a week you come out ahead with a membership.
There's even a complaint box for members - by the drain, 12 feet down.

If you have to move your car 4x week you aren't smart enough to drive, further proven by your having a car at all.
You live in a city, if you have a car and don't use it, man up and pay to park or shut up.
Such whiny men in this burg!

I don't understand. If you're minding your own business why would you even notice someone's dog quietly enjoying the park? How does this affect you in any way? I'm not talking abut how it Might affect you, but real-time, if you're minding your own business going about your day, why does this disturb you (and so many others, apparently) so much?

Too many hidden agendas layered under personality disorders around here.

Not a parking issue. Driver fail. Jersey City style is to power thru turn, looking only east down 8th for someone speeding even faster than you, ignoring anything left/west. Same same with traffic south on McWilliams, drivers roll thru looking left up 8th only.
Stop. look. Listen. Drivers in this town Suck Ass.

If you pony up $75 for a six-month membership you can get in weekends at 9:30 AM. General admission ($3A/$2c) gets sloppy seconds at noon!

Or maybe because the PO is sworn to UPHOLD and Enforce the law, that first part is important, the us vs. them is a result of the long history of Do as I Say, not as I Do, as Mr. Vigilante points out.

Interesting handle, we all know how the Bradley Beach Brawl worked out for Mayor Healy.

THe pool opens at 10:00 AM for general admission. The guards take out the 2 lane lines and put up a rope across the pool for the deepend. Madness ensues.

+1 North Bergen. My friends went there all last summer, very chill.
Pershing Field Pool has expanded hours for members, part of the roof still opens for sun, and there is a patio outside. Since it's not free the crowds are manageable.
You could also try to hook up with a resident of one of the swanky condoboxes like Avalon Cove.

As other people noted, I will control your dog if you can't/won't. I am not choking anything.

You're not controling the dog you are contorling you're well being and own welfare.

Aaand the cast rock from hours earlier bounces back and breaks the glass house.

Remember Arnold in the opening scene of True Lies? The twin dobies leapt at his face, he just clapped his hands together and headbanged the two together.

There's good reason why humans ascended to control the earth and not dogs. I see many "foster parents" who are weaker beings than the canines that contol their lives.

Right Tommy, cuz God knows there's like NO traffic in Brooklyn or Manhattan, NObody uses cars.

Did you not read/hear of the multiple complaints of booked bands' vans being booted/towed? My roommate's boyfriend has actually shuttled people to Maxwells, driven back to JC to park, then hoofed over to the show.

What if everytime you took your boat out, you had to circle around for 5-15 minutes upon return, looking for a berth?

White Eagle Hall will be a venue, Todd A. may book it, but make no mistake, there will never be another Maxwell's. My Stepdad took me to my first ever shows there, Portishead and the Loud Family.

JustJane, if you work til 2AM how can you be bothered by the crowds at the Grove Street Plaza???

The park closes at 10 or 11 (anybody know exactly?); the dog run is in the park, therefore Socrates the Man says the dog run is closed in the middle of the night.

What is is with that place and these old guys? Do they figure none of the "Downtown Yuppies" as Jerry calls them will have a clue who they are or what they're up to?

Tom D. and Bill G. were in for lunch (liquid?) Friday around 1:30. Oh to be a fly on that wall.

Whereabouts?

I heard nothing but rumors, about Village Liquors on Grover getting robbed at gunpoint earlier in the week and a carjacking there last evening, also by someone with a gun, masked even. Heard the cops got him after an accident on the Skyway.

Warmer weather in Jersey City always means more crime. Stay safe my friends.
