Can there be just one thread on this site that isn't immediately taken wildly off topic by the local wingnuts? Just one? Please?

He's probably a cop. They park in front of both hydrants and 7th and Monmouth every time they're drinking at the Music Box.

Everyone complains about traffic as if they aren't part of the problem. You're not stuck in traffic, you are traffic.

Sure, make them pay for it. Perhaps a few people with a fever will think twice about going to the hospital next time. I can think of a few people I'd like to see bleeding out of their orifices without even thinking outside of the group of geniuses here.

Seriously?? My auto correct feature split the word in two, hence the improper writing of it. But, yeah, I personally know two people that contracted the fungal infection knowd as ringworm and I don't know what it is. OK.

That was a pretty convenient stretch of time in which to look it up!

The bike lane striping sounds awesome, and it's interesting that they expect it to be done in 45 days. Meanwhile the city can't do shit about stop signs and speed bumps with zero paint.

Holy cow, check out this white guy telling them what kind of black people they should be. Yes massa! For fucks sake.

Only a fool would excuse Cuomo on the premise that "no one expects Cuomo to give a crap". NY is just as much affected by the PATH as NJ is. Similarly Newark airport is as affected as what goes on (or doesn't go on) at JFK. And it wasn't "billions" that went to the Skyway. It was $1.8 billion. And it wasn't inappropriately diverted. It was perfectly well diverted through appropriate channels. Stop with the hyperbole and stick with the facts.

More than $1 billion is "billions". If the diversion of funds wasn't inappropriate, why are the SEC and Manhattan DA's office investigating it? (facts)

It's rare to hear even Peter King concede that the threat is basically not there. But who cares? The marketing campaign of fear continues while certain people get very, very rich. Meanwhile, problems that actually affect the lives of millions of people continue to be ignored.

Silly children. You post in a Jersey City forum, and have no understanding how politics work in Hudson County and NYC and the Port Authority? The PA had agreed, pre Christie, to build the Freedom Tower-he was smart enough to ask for a quid pro quo. Where the F do you think the Pulaski Skyway leads to, anyway? Be happy it's only costing us half it would without the PA money. Otherwise, you're just another self hating NJ taxpayer who likes getting screwed by NY.

What did Corzine, McGreevey, Florio due to repair/upgrade mass transit infrastructure-but a once in a million year perfect storm hits NJ, and it's Christie's fault?

While this has nothing to do with the subject matter of Hansson, I can boast that I am married to the same person for more than 40 years so I must be doing something right. Plus he helps me with my videos, so the answer is Yes.

Ok, so there's somebody. Do you understand why people react so angrily to your posts here? I can't think of anyone else who elicits such frustrated reactions. (Probably because everyone manages to just ignore Heights)

I hope he enjoyed his short time of freedom.

Jersey City man killed in high-speed motorcycle crash in North Bergen, authorities say

NORTH BERGEN ? A Jersey City man was found dead on Sunday after crashing his motorcycle into a concrete barrier at a high speed and sliding more than 300 feet along the highway, authorities said.

Thomas Fischkelta, 29, was speeding on a slick Tonnelle Avenue (US 1&9 North) in North Bergen on Sunday morning when he crashed into a wall between the north and south bound lanes, said Hudson County Sheriff Frank Schillari. After striking the wall, Fischkelta rode up the structure and became slightly airborne, Schillari said.

The motorcycle landed on its side, and Fischkelta was thrown from the bike, sliding 376 feet before stopping, he said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

"We believe that high speed and wet road conditions appear to be contributing factors to the crash, which is still under investigation," Schillari said in a statement. "Blood samples will be sent to the state police lab to see if alcohol played a role in the crash."

Fischkelta was driving approximately 70 mph leading up to the crash and had a suspended driver's license, said Michael Makarski,a spokesman for the sheriff's office. He was wearing a helmet at the time, Makarski said.

The crash, which occurred at 3:40 Sunday morning, shut down Tonnelle Avenue for several hours.

I'm starting to have my doubts with some of the claims on JClist - I took a friends 1998 Ford Clunker Sedan and went over the so called humps at the posted speed sign and didn't bottom out once...and my friends car is a real piece of crap with faulty shock absorbers.

The claim of bottoming out and loosing front spoilers etc is crap as all cars can clear a 90 degree curb without a slope to them and all the humps are sloped.

Speed and cars with faulty or poor suspension appears to be the main problem here.

Your use of "loosing" renders your argument invalid.

It's very funny how this sort of behavior was tolerated (celebrated, even) during the Healy years, but now people are trying to make it out to be the Benghazi of Jersey City. I wonder why that is?
