The developers and city hall does, it's money in their pocket. Anywhere you can build is prime location and the skys the limit.

I know there was a thread on here about the old hamburger joint near the turnpike and newark ave but i could not find it.

People were asking if the builder had went out of business because he stopped work on the job after he had begun pounding piles into the ground.

It turns out that he is going before the board of adjustment Thursday night to get new approval to go twelve stories and have 55 unit's.He was already approved for four stories and 24 units. When does this stop.Who starts something with bank financing in place and then decides to redo the whole job without the fix being in.

Will every square inch of space become a hi rise soon. The kids who play on the ballfield behind that site will be in the dark during the Day.With the 12 story building that was approved across the street, newark ave will look like an alleyway after you pass under the train trestle.

I don't live in that area but as my friend who does Say's"no body seems to give a s___!

You mean the Deli Plus version girls, don't regard them as J.C. and please they are hot not "cali, speaker the English" eh !
Be cautious on what you order in there. The Pavonia Newpot location closed down due to health code violations. perishables can have ill effects. I guess why for the renovation.

I live in a newly constructed building downtown. For some reason the building was only granted a 5 year abatement versus a 20 year one like so many other buildings. Is their any procedure for having the abatement extended?

Have you read 5 Finger Discount yet ?

Re: Folding bicycles

Home away from home

I have 2 folding bikes and they're liberating, I laugh at the Parking Authority. One is a Dahon the other is a Brit bike called the Brompton with an English saddle. The Dahon (metro cruiser) is more mainstream and affordable, I use it to run major errands, commute to work, load it up with stuff, and when hills are in the way, it's also good when you have to lock it up outside. The Brompton (light commuting & errands) is good for flat ground, the train, and when bringing it inside matters. Another brand is Bike Friday (distant traveller) it will replicate the road bike, that you don't fold till you're ready to go home from a trip away from home. I would advise you to try all bikes according to the application, it's like shoes you don't know till you try it out. N.Y.C. & Philly have a folding bike fest every yeay in the spring. Go to www.foldingbikesociety.com, surf the web for further research or e-mail as me as well rapidron1@msn.com

Yeah the pumpkin is great tasting their ice cream is creamy, great stop with the bike. Once you know all the flavors the walk up window is convienient. I just wish they had a bench out there.

Because of this thread we went into Torico's over the weekend. I told the woman behind the counter (Mrs. Torico??) about the thread and she got very excited and asked me to print it out and bring it in to her. I'm hoping to get a free scoop out of it!

Had Pumpkin ice cream on the recommendations here... OMG!

Huh. Didn't know that, thanks.

But what about "sherbert" vs. "sherbet"? The former always strikes me as...weird. Like some nerdy combination of Sherman and Herbert (!).

Just googled each and, thankfully, sherbet wins the hit contest, 839,000 to 190,000!

So where does that leave Herman ?
