Re: Parking lot on 9th and Erie - door always open!

I hope the restaurant does well but I don't care if the parking garage affects them if it hinders the people who pay to park there.. I don't pay to have it left open 24/7 with no one to police it.

If you are going to leave the door open you need to have someone posted there to watch the entrance. Not only do you not have that, the door is left open all night long when the restaurant is not even open. This has been going on for 3 weeks.

The use of the garage is a temporary solution for Tommy's new restaurant, New Thanh Hoai. Tommy rented dedicated parking just to the north on Erie Street from Lefrak but is delayed getting approval to use the Lefrak lot. We expect in the next few days to get the ok. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please eat at New Thanh Hoai, if you can, the Vietnamese food is delicious and the owner, Tommy is very nice.

We've emailed them multiple times over the past 3 weeks kept hearing back temporary. Last email said yesterday would be the last day they were going to do it. Hopefully that is the case.

I had takeout the from there the first week they opened, I ordered a whole lobster and spring rolls. Both were good and it was quick. Unless they raised the prices, not sure about "a very expensive lobster" because it was only $15(for the lobster, not everything, hardly expensive.

Just ate here with my wife and another couple. It was probably the worst dining experience that I've ever had in Jersey City. The waiter and the kitchen had no concept of courses. I ordered Pho as a starter and seafood with noodles as a main course. My dining companions also ordered appetizers and entrees. To start, two people were served appetizers while the other two got nothing. Then my wife was served her main course (a very expensive lobster) alone. Then immediately after, the other entrees were served and my wife's appetizer came. I still had no Pho. In the mean time, the servers brought over THREE plates of sprouts and basil, saying "for soup" but no soup was to be seen anywhere. I still had nothing. Called the waiter over and let him know my extreme displeasure.

He hid in the kitchen for the remainder of the meal. Finally received my entree delivered by a busboy and, of course, 30 seconds later my Pho came which I sent back. When the waiter finally came out of the kitchen, he circled the dining room which only had four active tables, while talking on his CELL PHONE, ignoring my table because he didn't want to talk to me and apologize. The whole meal was a disaster. Never got to taste the Pho, and despite my complaints, nothing was removed from my check. Too bad. Could have been a nice addition to our dining rotation.

Not sure who the owners are but they are doing construction and there is a sign that says that it is going to be a Vietnamese restaurant.

I hardly ever see cyclists obey traffic laws whether it is a stop sign or light, very dangerous.

If you are trying to promote your restaurant just do that.
Maybe I'm wrong but first posts on something like this are always suspect...

Maybe someone else will have better luck but from my attempt to pick out better detail the quality and resolution are just not there.

If you can post some still frames pre-youtube compression at the full resolution it could be better to try and enhance the footage.

Ordered from there last night expecting it to take a really long time and ended up being about 40 minutes which is fine by me. While it wasn't ice cold, it wasn't piping hot either. It sure was tasty though, will definitely be ordering from there again.

For what it's worth...
We used Kook before and they did a good job.

Tried to use them again on Saturday for a leaky toilet and they told us early Saturday morning that they would send someone out that day. 5 hours later they called to say they could not come. They did try to re-schedule for this morning but it could not wait.

Ended up calling Clear Flow and they had someone over in an hour and did a good job.

It's $150/month plus $175 deposit for the garage door opener.

Got takeout from here today.

Ordered a platter of brisket and a platter of pulled pork.
The pulled pork was very good and the brisket was awesome, some of the best I've had.

The platters each come with a side, we ordered two different ones but ended up with 2 of the same, the "spicy mashed sweet potatoes with pepperjack cheese and roasted poblano". What we received was mashed sweet potatoes with nothing added, not so great.

Also, the brisket according to the menu comes with pickles and sauce. Didn't receive either.

Will definately go back but they have some kinks to work out...

To me it would just be about the principle. If they can't be bothered with pennies they should be ones ones to eat the cost.
