Re: Former Gov. McGreevey to head Jersey City jobs commission

That is some assumption you have there. If you think a Congressman would allow themselves to be snooped, then you haven't met a Congressman.

In any case, do you have any evidence to support your assertions? Let me even simplify this. Do you have any evidence that the NSA snooped on you personally? If so, what are you waiting for? Time to drag them to court!

Explain why you think the NSA is snooping on Christie. Perhaps you should encourage him to file a lawsuit then.

United Water does have an e-billing system by using a custom PDF emailed to you. I've been using it for about a year now and it seems to work fine. I wish I could schedule payment like with PSEG, but it's quarterly so no biggie.

What happened to last year's gun initiative? It was Senate Democrats who ran and hid from it. Immigration reform from last years speech? Obama could've achieved it immediately upon his first election, and instead of trying to get the economy going he focused on his 'signature' accomplishment instead-and that earned him the loss of political capital to do anything else.

So instead of talking about Republican's slapping his hand, pay attention to the ABC News poll last week that showed barely more than a third of Americans-of all political interest-believe he will make correct decisions going forward.

It seems like the citizens of the USA are slapping his hand.

Somewhere, Chris Matthews has lost the thrill up his leg.

With Congress approval rating in the single digits, I doubt most Americans would disapprove of a President willing to do something within his power. Sure Obama's approval ratings have taken a dive but it hardly the same level of disdain set aside for Congress.

Last night's speech is a good one and was powerful enough that even Newt Gingrich can speak positively of it. This being an election year though, it will be tough to get anything done more so than the usual ineptness of Congress.

I don't think we should go to war but to say that we should not care if chemical weapons are being used because we have done and seen so much worse is being delusional. Unchecked chemical weapons use makes the situation worse, not better.

If they were arrested for murder, wouldn't they have bigger problems than worrying about their immigration status? I'm not sure what you are trying to say here and I have not followed that case to understand the relevance but when someone is already arrested for a crime then yes, some of their rights may be forfeit, like their right to not be in jail for instance. Cops would not even have to ask, they can run all the background checks they deem necessary to solve a crime.

There's nothing 'Latin' about respecting people's privacy. Cops cannot and should not pry and search unless there is probable cause.

While there may be more Latino illegals due to their proximity of origin, then it should also make sense that they are the ones deported the most. I dare you to show me statistics that can dispute that assertion. I would guess that over 90% of illegals deported are from other parts of the Americas.

They come here to work and they get exploited by those who want to profit off cheap labor. What are we doing about those people? Reagan sure didn't do a thing.

Leaf blowing and collection
Home away from home
Home away from home

I know JCIA is supposed to have leaf bag collection and have given out leaf bags but I still see the practice of neighbors blowing leaves into the street. I have no problem collecting leaves with the leaf bags I was given and if not enough, use my own bags biodegradable or not, but if it is okay to blow leaves into the street then it will be a big time saver for me. Can I still blow leaves into the street for the sweepers or is that a big no-no?

BTW, I am talking about leaves on the sidewalk which for some reason chose to congregate around my property which has no trees.

Kraverie doesn't just do crepes. They do offer some dishes including BBQ meats with rice which I liked but left me craving for more. I do miss the BBQ buffet places in NYC but it's better than nothing.

Large numbers of healthy people paying into any health insurance are always the ones that make it work. It's just now that insurance companies can't have their cake and eat it too: they can't turn away people with pre-existing conditions. Am I missing something here?

Anyway, I've been trying to create an account and I've run into the security question glitch where you get blank fields on the dropdown. I can see why people are frustrated but it's early and we have until December to wrap up enrollment. I wish this could have gone smoother but it has become the norm to see these issues with massive rollouts.

Silly me.

You can't give them guns, that's how they steal all our jobs! Guns are for Americans only... but not the native kind.

So I'm guessing someone who stole a gun from someone who failed to report it is just exercising his 2nd amendment rights. After all, there is no such thing as an 'illegal gun.'

Re: FedEx requiring signatures

I don't understand the hostility. Why is it so horrible to sign for your package? I guess it is a hassle for those who have no one to accept the package but that's not really anyone's fault but your own. I would rather be bothered to sign and confirm that the package was delivered to me so I can have the chance to check and reject if need be. I guess you love getting your package left at the door, in whatever state it is in, waiting for just anyone to snap it up, with hardly any notice? FedEx is notorious for this and I would be glad if they start changing their policies on delivery.

Can anyone recommend a good landscape/paving contractor? I would like to have parts of my yard paved with concrete and the work will involve removing some really old and large bushes.

Thanks.

I had the pleasure of meeting with Emma of asmallgreenspace.com and although we both came to the conclusion that my yard space needs a lot more thinking over, she helped me a lot with ideas that can help me get to where I need it to be. Once I have the yard to a point where I can actually think about garden design ideas, I won't hesitate to consult her again.
