nope, you're the asshole here, it's entirely the business of neighbors that live on that block to not have an asshole like yourself move in and take on street parking away via an illegal front driveway, there's a process involving getting approval if you hadn't heard

Strawberry season has been over for a few weeks.

Blueberries and raspberries are in season now. Peaches will start in late July and carry into September, and apples will be pickable from September into early November.

Considering 40% of households in JC do not own a car, 1 space per unit (100% parking for new units) is not necessary. The "neighborhood association" in my neighborhood goes into hysterics about parking too, but only 52% of households here have a car. Going to any of these "important" meetings, you'd think EVERYONE has cars, and that EVERYONE coming into the neighborhood is going to have a car. But that's just not true.

Overbuilding the parking just drives up the cost of housing.

Not the prettiest building I've ever seen, but what would the neighborhood prefer, a line of Bayonne boxes with driveways (and cars parked in the driveways blocking most of the sidewalk)? Also, 1 parking per unit is way too much parking in Jersey City.

21 units over 4 parcels (36, 38, 40, 42 Waverly) doesn?t sound all that ?large scale,? really. What?s the height?

That's pretty cool. Bergen Square's role in NJ history is underappreciated. Saturday's event will be worth checking out.

Living "up the hill," is like living in a bubble. Seeing violent crime, homelessness, lack of supermarkets/access to healthy foods, etc., it's easy to forget the true problems facing this city, such as the removal of some seating inside a downtown Starbucks.

After hearing over and over again how Branch Brook Park Newark has the most cherry blossom trees even more so than DC, I made it there this past weekend. It was quite disappointing as far as cherry blossoms are concerned. The Park is miles long and the trees are scattered about everywhere. And of course, you don't have the tidal basin and monument type backdrop.

Having said all that it was beautiful Park and the surrounding neighborhoods were really nice. Both my friend were surprised Newark had those kinds of neighborhoods.

Well of course...If Branch Brook Park had a tidal basin and a monument type backdrop, it would probably be - Washington DC, not Newark!!!

Branch Brook Park is pretty great. It doesn?t have the Tidal Basin and monuments, but the pond and basilica backdrop give a similarly ?monumental? feel, no?

To think of all of the power brokering and envelope passing that has happened at that place over the years. An institution in Hudson County politics.

Of the major fast food joints, both KFC and BK are missing in Journal Square.

Also, a Nathans/Arthur Treachers sign recently went up inside the JSQ Path station, where the old bagel place was years ago.

Thanks, neverleft. The link I posted was to the applicant's paperwork with City Planning, which is basically the same information.

What's surprising to me is that site is zoned R-1, which is weird because I'm pretty sure everything on that stretch of Newark Ave is Neighborhood Commercial.

They need to rip up the tracks, remove the overhead wires, and bring in equipment to dig down to the pipe. You can't run "reduced service" when the infrastructure itself is gone.

The Port Authority does not want to build a station in Marion. City forced the Port Authority to study it as part of the legal settlement over back taxes. Study is supposed to be done sometime this year. I'd be shocked if it said anything other than "Marion station is not feasible in the near term due to (x, y, z reasons), so no further action will be taken."

I somehow got into a ?behind the scenes? tour of Hoboken Terminal around the time the article in the OP was written (2005 or so). The upstairs area is HUGE. There were still black coverings on the skylights dating to WW2.

The rep from NJT on that tour said something about turning it into a rentable ballroom for events, a food court, offices, or some combination of all of those things. Would love to see something come of it. Such a great space, but it needs a lot of work for sure.

Somewhere in my archives I can probably find pics

PANYNJ sold the retail space to Westfield for $1.415 billion in 2013. PANYNJ does get extra payments if/when the mall revenue exceeds a certain threshold (I don?t know what that threshold is).

It may seem foolish for PANYNJ to sell it off, but given how many empty stores there still are, it may have been wise to let it go.

You?re right. I just cannot get past this. There is a very real difference, and I cannot fathom that a stable adult would try to reason otherwise.

And even if you don?t understand that, I hope the church fathers do.

You are wrong Bike Lane, McCarrick victimized an 11 year old, and a 16 year old. There were payments made, I believe this happened in New York. In fact, here is the story, when John O'Connor was dying of cancer, he was the cardinal of New York at St. Patrick, he few to Rome and told John Paul 2, not to make him cardinal of New York. The one thing about the Catholic Church according to the investigators in Pennsylvania, they wrote everything down. Nothing was destroyed.

What part did I get wrong? I said he abused children because he was an animal. What you just posted supports that positon, no?
