Yes we are entitled to representation by our Congressman. He represents us. Why would you not contact him? It can't hurt you, and our local officials don't care.
Every other city is conforming to the 2% cap..why not JC?
This should be all over the media!
And yes I did complain to Sires

Dear Ianmac,
Very few people are more educated than me. gullible idiot? I will not take offense, as most Americas are gullible idiots voting for some socialist named Barack Hussein Obama that bankrupted IL.
Dedicate to a corporation? What the F$(K? how about Pepsico, Google, Johnson & Johnson? The liberals in this town are out of control. The towns spends over $70mm more per year then they already extort? What, tax the rich? Further penalize people that already support the 50% that pay zero?
And the person that blamed things on Bush? Obama ran on a campaign that would get us out or wars? Hello??

Charon "Unions aren't the issue, it's the Goldman Sachs', hedge funds, oil companies and defense contractors. They have profited off the pain of the poor and middle class"
Really? Now I hate defending GS, but the government chose/chooses to keep it a going concern, & they repaid their loans and occasionally pay 100mm+ bullship fines to FINRA/SEC, so it comes out in the wash, and you are never forced to do business with GS at rates you have no control over. Hedge Funds? you have no idea what one is, nor how they operates, nor recognize that they are small businesses, that employ competitive hard working people, ie non-Union. & these folks get fired if they slack off for a second. Most union folks can sleep for 3 months a yr and still get paid. As of the rest... it seems you despise all private companies, that pay salaries of public folks..odd.

If anyone in the history of NJ politics has earned a vacation its this man. Unions and all lazy government workers are killing this state and country. He is one reason to be thankful on
this 4th of July. God Bless.

Jersey City is facing a budget deficit of nearly $80 million, which the city hopes to reduce through the current round of furloughs and layoffs.
Go Democrats! Tax and spend. More salaries and benefits for public workers.

Doubt Chapter 9, As the JC democrats skirts the REPUBLICAN governor's 3% cap. City hall will always win. Its all about cost per month. Do I really need to do an example?
I think yes, as most people here don't get it.
As taxes go up, housing prices will drop. City hall has no mercy..soon, your monthly principle payment will be $100, interest $1000, and taxes $4000 per month. That was for a brownstone worth $1mm, now worth $200k.
yes...I am trying to leave this socialist town...Fulop or not.

Don't sweat it. If it had the green card, in 2010, you'll get it again and a CO. I dealt with many issues with the town, that is not one of them. Just go down to 30 (I think) Montgomery, and work it out. However..do it fast and don't say you've moved in yet. As long as you are not dealing with the Historic Board, you'll be fine.

That alteration would require a 20% surcharge in JC.
I would love to see how many in JC receive public money versus pay taxes and how many public housing units are here.

Brewster, very astute and this chart is 2 years out of date.
There are so many ways to manipulate the date its criminal.
From its source, I believe its crap.
I would like to know how many Gov Union employees make the minimum wage of $7.25? I know many folks under 30 years old and did not graduate from college make over $70k.
The public servant is all those not working for the gov, and THEY know it.
That is criminal.
In times like this all businesses should trade up for smarter people.

I do hope you call the town and sue you neighbor for the damage of 3inches. Working sump pumps at all times in all homes with adjacent walls should be law. We have a derelict neighbor, and always have to do more because they do nothing. Animals in the ceiling, flooding..extra shoving..
If any of you remember me..yes I am trying to get OUT of here, damn taxes gallop.

Agree with Johnr and the other guy. It would be a nice garage, and this city is going primate. Hoboken can support a museum and JC cannot! Oh we need more basketball hoops, no income free housing, and public piss pools. Please take away the libraries, so we can be more moronic.
The museum should buy the Church on First Street. I would even raise money and give 10k.

This is normal. Don't be alarmed, we have to shut down, the museum, library, sidewalks, air, street signals, 911, internet, walking, talking and chewing gum. Half of the police force will eventually be fired, so we can pay 200k per year to the more senior members of the union.

Funny how some people are here. Report her?
A grown-up accepts a place to live at an agreed upon rate for five years. I doubt she took the windows out during this time and broke and kept heater off intentionally. Its really not simple to fix these things esp with the thieves in this city and county.
Any Landlord can convince a judge they were Trying to fix the furnace, if they fail...then they Jack the rent at year end.
Mine was down for an hour, last week should I sue?
$70k/5 yrs - big deal, that is a basic cost of living, mom would charge the same.

Sounds like you add to issues.
Just move to another place.
A rebate for heat...really?

She is most likely pissed (or broke) about paying an exorbitant amount to get the heat working again, and she too was cold.

I'm thinking Fulop is jumping the Shark here.
Cuts are always tough on someone/some group, that will always be a fact.
He should have banked this small gain for the overall good of the budget, and all taxpayers.
Thousands wished they had 1/2 these benefits.

Yea....but I guess we need more and more taxes so I can get about 2 bucks a month in ss benefits when I turn 85.
But I can rob a bank, because we'll not be able to afford more cops.

Ironic - Letssavejc. Unions bleed towns dry, ever scrambling to raise taxes. Take more, and work less is the mantra. Why not take a minor pay cut to keep your brothers employed? Pensions are an relic, and should be banned for all. Defined contribution, is the way, + current SS system.
The term "public servant" got turned 180 degrees.

Charon, well said. The Unions only care about themselves, not the public. The compensation is triple or quadruple the average Americans, when you figure in retirement benefits. This comp is sick! Christie and taxpayers will fix this in time

JCSHEP, I think it does bode well for JC real-estate, and non union jobs. Christie is really looking after the private sector folks on this one. Should the economy heat up, more companies might set up shop on this side of the river, better for these cities, tax rolls, etc. Should the economy still stay in a funk, more incentive for companies to save some money and move here. More highways just enables people to drive past here. Blank checks written to unions, is never a good thing.

I don't really see gentrification as a goal, but more as an occurrance. Then tolarance and acceptance(then friendship etc..), if both can relate. What the hell is wrong with white people?
Too many is bad? I don't get it?
What is wrong with Hoboken? No disgusting bogedas, no bullishit illiegal money exchange places, No bums/drug dealers outside Dunkin Donuts on Sat and Sun mornings.
Whoever set up this post is a racist against White people or very insecure.
Immigrants of yester-year wanted to be American! They gave up their home and language to be American. No different schools, press #2, no dual passports, no covered faces..etc.
Hard work and integration. Do any blacks say..to many blacks here...need some whites here, or Muslims saying we have too many, let me get some Catholics here?!
