I have been following this thread for a while, and think it's time to repsond. As Popeye would say, "I cants take it no more!". I have been a resident of J.C. for 14 years, and in Hudson County for twice as long. In my years following the political scene, I have not come across a more proactive councilperson/politician than Steve Fulop. I do not agree with every vote or every comment he makes, but he's a person who has the best interest of his city and ward at heart.

In theory, a councilperson is a part-time position. Someone forgot to tell Steve that. He's extremely active in the community, very generous with his time and support, and listens to his constituents. Several postings here refer to him as a carpetbagger and an elitist. I always thought a carpetbagger was a person who takes and doesn't give back. I wouldn't say that represents Steve Fulop's character. As for being an elitist, I wish he was more of one. I find he relates to all people regardless of education and financial success. He certainly doesn't judge a man by the size of their wallet.

Be that as it may, he does have his faults... as do all of us. He's often thin-skinned, who takes personally the ridiculous comments of posters on this list and disgruntled city employees. Regarding his latest beef with Lou Manzo, mayoral candidate Manzo took it upon himself to insult Fulop when he wouldn't support Manzo's 5th mayoral candidacy. I wish Steve did not feel a need to respond to Manzo's comments which show Manzo's frustration in beating the Healy machine.

Many of us were disappointed that Steve did not run for Mayor this year. With Healy's campaign war chest at over 2 million dollars, I'm sure he felt the time was not right. From what I can tell Healy asked over 6 people to run against Fulop in his reelection bid for councilperson. Healy and Fulop are not in bed together. Steve continues to criticize the mayor when he believes it's warranted.

I urge everyone in this ward to support Steve Fulop in his reelection. He is by far the best councilperson this ward has seen.

On another note, I urge all to support Dan Levin in his mayoral bid. Though Dan's attempts against the machine might be futile, he warrants our support. There is no such thing as a wasted vote! Even if it sets the seeds for the future, honest people like Dan need to be involved in politics and supported. If you are not registered to vote, please register now.

SUPPORT FULOP & LEVIN!!!
I only wish they got along better cause they seem to agree on what is important for Jersey City and it's future.
Thank you.

I don't think it's asking too much to keep dogs out of small fenced in childrens play area.Yes there are bigger problems in our community but to ask that one part of Hamlton Park is not covered in urine should be easy enough to solve,

Our country glorifies gun crime..from the toys for toddlers to video games for teenagers to high body counts on television and movies gun violence is portrayed as a part of everyday life. Michael Moore\'s documentary BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE revealed that Canada even with higher unemployment and higher gun ownership
than the United States , the murder rate is approx 1/10 of it\'s neighbour to the south.
Gun violence is embedded in the fabric of our society. This has got to change.

322 8th , a fairly new contstruction 2 family house home located in Hamilton Park. To me this house stands out for several reasons. The fact that it was built on a historic block but looks like post modern structure from THE JETSONS . This a shining example of of the inconsistencies of The Historic Commision and Dan Wriedan. How was this approved? Who was involved the the sale of the land ? The favorable tax rate?

Dan Levin is a good person with alot of integrity. He gives alot of himself to the city and is getting people involved in the process who might not be otherwise... though
I do wish he would run for council at large...Fulop and Levin need to have a sit down and work out there differences. Lets work together to end buisness as usual.

When the move becomes finalized I'm sure there will be ample time to explore private bus options in addition to the public transportation ones previously mentioned.

Regarding the move uptown.. it is my understanding that LCCS is finacially strapped and if it doesn't increase it's enrollment it faces serious difficulties.

I doubt that Lipski fell off the wagon and hadn't had a drink in 2 years...what is he going to say...i'm a drunken fool but i usually don't projectile urinate on people...it's tough to love this city and the people who run it..county executives shaking down people, a diabetic mayor who continues to drink like a frat boy and gets into scrapples and now a councilperson who acts like an animal.. I'm having alot of trouble having empathy for Lipski. he has shown very little remorse and acting like an arrogant arse at the last council meeting.

I still have high hopes for what this city could become.. more people like Fulop, Dan Levin and Shelly Skinner will become involved in running this horse town.

I have found that owners that list there apartment with realtors are often priced better than for rent by owner. Owners often have an inflated view of how much there apt/ home is worth. If one is pressed for time paying a fee may be cost effective. When I first moved to Hudson County( many moons ago) my roomate and I paid a 1 month fee for a great 2 bedroom we lived in over 3 years. We found it was well worth the approx $20 a month prorated fee.

there are lazy realtors, dishonest brokers ect ect but i have found that it's indicitive of the human race not a particular line of work.

if people spent less time posting and complaining and put a little effort into cleaning and updating there apts I'm sure that they would rent sooner.

Dan Levin running is not part of masterplan by Steve Fulop. Levin will garner support from Fulop supporters and those who may not vote. Though Dan and Steve have worked together in the past this is not the case now. Dan has done a fine job running Civic JC but I feel he is a little rough around the edges and may not have the right personality to get people to work together. Fulop has been an outstanding councilperson who has turned a part time job into full time advocacy for the people of Jersey City.He is very ambitious but is that a crime?
I believe Fulop is waiting to see who declares their running before announcing. We the people of Jersey City would be well served with him as mayor.

Ward E was traditionally a Hispanic ward until Fulop was elected. Skinner deserves our support and we should not take her election as scouncilperson for granted. I have had the pleasure of working with her in the past and found her intelligent, fair and even tempered. Her work as a childrens / school advocate touches upon improved schools, lead in the water, community policing, pay to play, double dipping and so much more.
