I'm hoping the cops bring that big inflatable rat with them. It sorta resembles the new City Business Administrator. What a disaster Mr. Kelly has been.

The man has been a failure in every enterprise he has entered. The latest being his failed charter school. Leave it to Team Healy to choose a reprobate like Lipski.

And a further irony in this : many of the JCPD cops and their families live in Republican districts and probably voted for Christie. The man who cut State aid to the City and hastened the JCPD layoffs.

The Parking Authority is an autonomous agency. It's personnel costs are not in the City budget and have no effect on JCPD hiring or firing.

Very good post. You can add the City's OEM Director. A recently retired cop who was rehired and is picking up another salary in addition to his pension.

You sound like a typical Bush/Christie right wing moron. The unions are responsible for all, that is wrong in this country, particularly those evil government worker and teacher unions.

The truth of the matter is this country was on a sound financial footing when Clinton left office and Bush the war criminal screwed it up. Tax cuts for the wealthy, two wars that weren't paid for with tax increases and a slew of unfunded/under-funded mandates.

Now the bills are coming due and the right wing teabagger crowd want to take it out of the hide of government workers. While the banks, hedge funds and multi-nationals continue to skate.

If you really want to know why this City is in desperate fiscal shape file an Open Public Records request and see how much the City is paying out to the retiring cops and firemen. It's shocking.

In any event, Vega is a complete scoundrel.

There must be an epidemic of narcolepsy among City employees. Kabili isn't the only one sleeping on the job.

A sense of entitlement clearly defines Epps. He seriously feels he's entitled to all the compensation he can get for the poor job he's done. And he's surrounded himself with lackeys and sycophants who have prospered by riding his gravy train. Not to mention all the vendors who he's given sweetheart contracts to.

It will be illuminating to see which way Carol Lester votes on Wednesday night. Will she support the Fulop agenda and vote against Epps. Or will she take the Levin position to maintain the status quo. Funny how Fulop and Levin are competing to be the Anti-Healy and the next mayor.

Pretty laughable when you consider Viola has been rubber stamping most of the Healy agenda for years.

A constraint she could put on herself is not taking her City Council salary. Given that she already gets a County salary and a Police disability pension. Somehow, I don't think she'll make the sacrifice though.

that said, I believe that we should move on .... why?

- because on September 9th, I will be among the parents and caregivers of the 28,000 public school kids walking them to their first day back to school and with or without Dr. Epps, there is much that needs to and can be done

- because we need to achieve the best possible outcome under the circumstances and that is a contract setting the tone for accountability, cost control and job performance (for Dr. Epps and those that come after).

all or nothing will not work for us.

Unbelievable ! Using that kind of logic I could make a case for retaining Healy even though he sat at a table while bribes were being offered.

We should move on ?! All or nothing will not work for us ?! The man has had 10 years to do the job and has failed. Now you want him to stay until 2013 !? WTF !!??

The spectacle of Sandy Cunnigham, Charles Mainor,Jeff Dublin, etal speaking at the meeting last nite was truly pathetic. All unbiased observers know that InEpps has done a terrible job and must go. But the political class in Jersey City, be they black or white, fear change above all and will fight to the end.
