This is how FIOS is wired. The fiber goes to the house only, not to individual rooms.

You will get the full benefit of FIOS by utilizing your existing coax unless it is extremely old and not able to carry a proper signal.

He is probably stating his total tax payment for the year which is made up of state, county and city tax.

Only Hoboken is raising its rate by 47% thus the discrepancy.

Technically, New Jersey issues the bonds. GS, along with many other banks in the syndicate, underwrites the issue for public sale. An issuer cannot underwrite without an Investment Bank. So you think GS is the only one pushing CDSs' on NJ debt to their clients?

The writer of this article knows very little of the financial market.

Predictably the racism is starting to spew from the mouths of McCain supporters. First the "Thunderbird" comment on another thread now this guy. Your true colors shining through!

I was being sincere. What??? You DON"T think there is going to be rejoicing up there??? It's racist to NOT consider that intersection as a good place to party.

No what? I'm going to go there. What you don't (for some reason) know about black *Americans* is that this is going to be a joyous party. They're not going to turn over cars like animals. They'll be too busy crying, thinking about the horror that confronted their parents and grandparents only a few short years ago. They'll be thinking about lynching in the South not long ago. They'll be thinking about Black Americans being portrayed as dim-witted fools in Hollywood not long ago. They'll be thinking about being subjected to second class status and being the Invisable Man in "liberal" Manhattan not long ago.

I'm happy to be in the Party that doesn't hate as a weapon. I'm happy to have watched Republicans embrace hate until it consumed them. And if taking joy in the look on my black neighbor's faces because, not only are we about to elect a Black President, but a Law Professor who is the best possible choice to lead this country makes me "contemptible", then I've never been prouder to be a contemptible person in my life.

NBC is currently reporting live from multiple Obama parties in .... HARLEM.

It seems like we made some small change on the BJs shopping cart issue. Maybe if enough of us complain to the 4 stores in that lot we can get something done.

Its a long shot but seems like it would be worth it.

This pretty much says it all. We are less than a mile geographically from NYC buy light years in public service.

You are slowing digesting the way things are done here. We the lifers have come to accept it as a way of life. Although in the last 10 years the City has been working harder than they ever did before thanks to all the new and unsuspecting residents.

On Oct. 1, the cable company will update its user agreement to say that users will be allowed 250 gigabytes of traffic per month, the company announced on its Web site.

250 GB is a tremendous amount of data and will not affect the average user. Unless you are someone that downloads or streams HD video all day long it will not be an issue.

I've been trying to stay out of the political threads but watching the DNC tonight gets me in the mood to post.

Obama is a GREAT at delivering a good speech. I wish I could get more out of his decision making and voting records as his speeches.

Biden was a horrible choice.
http://news.cnet.com/8301-13578_3-100 ... tag=newsLeadStoriesArea.0

Obama supported FISA, something out of the Bush/Cheney playbook.
http://blog.washingtonpost.com/the-tr ... orts_fisa_legislatio.html

This isn't change, this is the same thing you would expect any old-time politician to do.

Anyway, I don't expect the GOP convention to be much different.

jc12579, Please click here for the solution to your problem.

I assume some, maybe a majority, of the people who get towed simply don't know they will be towed, if they did, they probably wouldn't risk it over $3.

People who don't know, park there because it is more convenient to park in that lot for shopping at SR/BJs AND the mall. If the shoppers purchased something at one of those stores (BBB,SR,PB,BJs), do they deserve to get towed? I don't think so, and most reasonable people wouldn't either.

Shady operation run by shady people that add 0 value to the community.

I admit that I received this same ticket. However, it was during a 3 month stretch where 2nd/Washington was blocked to traffic due to construction at the A. While what I did was still a violation (I admit it), it was not a threat to public because there was no possible way for traffic to come down 2nd.

Now, I've seen the tow operator AND police cars do this exact same thing on 2nd st and sure, it pisses me off too.

So I follow him out of the lot and thats when the fun really started. A police car immediately pulled onto Warren (I just now realize that he must have called them) then 2 more patrol cars arrive. The 6 police officers then proceeded to accuse me, ask for my license, and told me that I was harrasing the tow driver. They wanted to know why I was following and taking photos of the tow driver. I responded by saying that I am concerned that the car will be damaged because it is being towed on one wheel. They doubted me so I showed them photo 2 and then they treatened to arrest me.

JC73, I agree with what you say however the way this operation is setup is just shady. The tow operators are assholes, they don't follow city ordinances, the drivers go the wrong way down one-way streets (2nd)...

Just like most bad behaviors, there should be more incentive to prevent the act from happening once, not after-the-fact negative enforcement.

The whole thing is just a money making scam.

disclaimer: I've never been towed for parking illegally.
