It seems that since I've move here (1yr), there have been more homeless people and aside from three new restaurants Newark Ave seems to get worse and worse. Went last night - no it's not Mexican. Service was excellent, atmosphere was very comfortable, although the dining room is pretty loud when the place is full, such as last night.

Tried the mussles and ox tail appetizers, both good. The mussles in Skinners Loft was better. Ox tail was interesting, it was on top of some sort of rice custard?

I had the Grilled Flat Iron Steak, medium rare, very good quality meat, cooked just right, lots of flavor. The spinach and potato that came with it was very good.

Th other people in my party had the Pan Seared Scallops (Excellent -reccommended), and the Olive Oil poached Halibutl topped with tobiko (fish eggs).

They also had a $26 bottle of Zin that was quite a good deal.

And the kids thought the Chocolate Gelatto was the best in recent memory.

more or less goodnews.. a Morton Williams (sometimes called ASSOCIATED) in NY isn't such a terrible thing, decent prepared food, wide selection, good produce. If IT'S successful, it's a good barometer for competition to come in and compete...

Was hoping to at least try this place, but you unfavorable comparison to Wild Fusion just scared me away.

Is this a reasonable comparison? Would love to hear some opinions, because my experience with WF is that a lot of their food is borderline inedible.

Well, here it is about a month later and they constructed about half of the first floor exterior wall today. It looks like there definitely won't be retail in this building along Brunswick Street. Also, it will definitely have a parking garage on the first floor, and if the whole first floor is a garage, it is definitely large enough for twelve cars. I disagree with you about the lot size though, ianmac - looks to me like they can probably fit four units per floor. That would mean four stories. We shall see though...if they continue working at the pace they worked today, the whole structure should be completed by the end of August at the latest!

I ordered delivery from Sawadee on Friday night which was apparently their first night delivering. I must say that i was shocked when my order arrived no later than 15 minutes after i placed my order. As a bonus, the delivery guy was very extremely nice (almost too nice).

The food was good, the portions were large, and the prices weren't high. I will definitely order from them again soon.

YES we all expect quality and service and value. BUT could we have a LITTLE bit of optimism? To their credit, it sure don't look like a PAYLESS anymore.
