One of the best laughs I had last summer was during a block stoop sale, watching an Airbnber trying to parallel park a compact in a space big enough for a minivan and a half. There were four of us watching effort after effort. I turned to one and said "she gets one more chance, and then I'm taking the keys and parking it myself." Then her travel companion got out and started directing.

Thanks for reminding me of that hilarious 15 minutes.

I once got a summons for trash cans out front. I live in a brownstone. I asked where else I should put them, noting that the mayor across the street, also has trash can in front. The summons was cancelled.

But seriously, folks.....has anyone heard a payment date for the 3Q bill for those on autopay through the city? The amount has been posted, but no date, and I can't get through to the tax office.

Brewster, my older son was in the first kindergarten class in 1997. When his group hit 5th grade, the class was tracked. My younger son's class was not tracked because the principal said his class was far more homogeneous.

When my kids were at McNair, I got the impression that the issue with Ivies was paying for it, not admission. I'd heard of a number of kids who got it but didn't get nearly enough money so ended up going elsewhere.
