From jeseycityupfront:
Quote: As for drinks ? the Lutze will have a full bar along with 16-oz. $9 draft beers (Radeberger, Weihenstephaner, Leinenkugel Summer Shandy, more), $7 can beers (Lutze Amber Ale, Sixpoint Crisp, more), $9 wine/ros?, and $9 sangria. They?ll also offer frozen margaritas at $11. You can check out the full menu here (PDF). Drink prices are actually very reasonable considering the location and the view. Are we really supposed to think anything other than maybe the wine prices are reasonable? Especially considering a week ago I could effectively BYO and sit in those same seats or continue to do so on any part of the waterfront.

You'll get plenty of leads from craigslist; especially if you're listing as owner with no broker fee.
Plus a lot of the aggregators like hotpads and padmapper will scrape your listing.

No, I don't doubt that the place is lackluster. It was simply that there were three posts in a row from users with NAME### and fewer than 5 previous posts. It has definitely happened here before, much like on Yelp, that a place opens and competitors or friends/family try to swing public perception through false reviews.

Gotcha. I was having trouble parsing that with Two Boots complaining about $200/yr. Does that mean there are roughly 300 businesses in the HDSID and they would all have to contribute to this fund even if they're all the way down at Newark and 3rd or York and Grove and not open during these hours?

I'm all for some kind of change here. I don't think that closing the plaza really solves for anything.
That said, the $3000 number quoted in the article makes no sense to me. If we just consider "warmer months" to be May - September we're talking about 60 working days and 2 officers per day. Are we expected to believe that these off-duty cops are going to work 5-6 hour shifts for $25?

Great article. The first few items on the list reference hate crime "stories" shared on Facebook, not reported by actual news organizations. There are also two or three items on the list that reference what we can assume are white, conservative Trump supporters who attempted to frame the Black Lives Matter movement. While I don't doubt that there are plenty of stupid people out there who are more than capable of committing the acts mentioned, there is a great sense of irony that you seem to be missing. This is exactly where the concept of "fake news" comes from that the president has co-opted to label unflattering, but factually accurate articles from proper journalists. "Fake news" are the stories and sensational tabloid articles, very much in line with what LidBlog generates, that are shared via social media and get perpetuated through the groupthink mentality enabled by the algorithms driving your Facebook feed. This benefits no one and dumbs down the general populace on both sides such that they don't bother to vet or validate anything they read. It is lowest common denominator nonsense that preys on our most basic psychology in confirmation bias. For anyone interested, Lidblog.com, the source cited here, is behind such objective journalism as: A Leader of Upcoming Anti-Trump Protest is Palestinian Terrorist- Killer of 2 Students Tucker Carlson DESTROYS Bill Nye (Who?s Not Really A Science Guy) Don Lemon: CNN?s Proof That You Can?t Fix Stupid 122 Obama Lies That Mainstream Media Mostly Ignored (About 25% Of His Total) The Preacher Who Obama Almost Blamed For Benghazi Attack President Trump Is NOT An Anti-Semite (But Obama May Be One)

I agree with the general sentiment of the article but fail to see how it argues your point. First, it is an opinion piece that sites no individual instance of its underlying conceit. The closest it gets, other than the blanket statement about Democrats that you quoted, is here: "Already pro-Trump voices on the right are calling the leaks that led to Michael Flynn?s firing evidence of an attempted coup d?etat. The fevered use of such terms is part and parcel of the way in which social media amplifies the melodrama of daily news stories." My opinion of the problem is that we have a president who is fanning these flames through incendiary comments such as: "The FAKE NEWS media (failing @nytimes, @NBCNews, @ABC, @CBS, @CNN) is not my enemy, it is the enemy of the American People!" There have been zero instances in which the administration, or anyone, has pointed to a specific story where one of these outlets got something objectively wrong. It very much feels that terms like "fake news" are used because they are simple, easily repeatable catch-phrases that lead those uttering them to think they've won an argument or are absolved of real debate.

Then I would argue that you have a fundamental misunderstanding of the situation. Nearly half of the products (137B out of the total 295B in 2015) imported from Mexico are in the automobile and electronics categories(mostly TVs, computers and OEM electronics components). Virtually none of them are created by countries founded or based in Mexico.

To add on here because I cannot edit my post, I do not care about this silly mistake. It has been corrected. My response to you was only to point out that no matter the issue, you seem to be willing to tow the party line. You're being deliberately obtuse instead of saying, "Yeah, stupid mistake."
Much more significant, stances have been made on the updated whitehouse.gov pages. I tried to re-direct to one. The reason that news outlets picked up on this is because it is an easy target. They can say, "Oh look at this! They're trying to sell jewelry! Can you believe it!" No one is going to whitehouse.gov to get shopping tips, but that does not mean the First Lady should be able to have a bio that includes my jewelry line is called ____, and you can find it on here. This is "reporters" trying to get knee jerk reactions from the anti-Trump camp on an easy story while they (hopefully) push for further detail on that abomination of an energy "plan."

It has since been edited to remove the name of her jewelry line and where it can be purchased. Actually despicable and worth talking about are these contradictory statements in the "America First Energy Plan" Quote: For too long, we?ve been held back by burdensome regulations on our energy industry. President Trump is committed to eliminating harmful and unnecessary policies such as the Climate Action Plan and the Waters of the U.S. rule. Lifting these restrictions will greatly help American workers, increasing wages by more than $30 billion over the next 7 years. followed by Quote: Lastly, our need for energy must go hand-in-hand with responsible stewardship of the environment. Protecting clean air and clean water, conserving our natural habitats, and preserving our natural reserves and resources will remain a high priority. President Trump will refocus the EPA on its essential mission of protecting our air and water. Amazing, so you're going to maintain responsible stewardship of the environment by making no mention of wind, solar or any renewable energy source and also remove legislature that promotes those very types of energy.
