Re: Oil Tank - How do I find out if property has one?

Don't give up so fast. Now that you have identified the problem, the owner MUST disclose it to potential buyers. No one in their right mind would blindly take responsibility, so it will ultimately rest in the homeowners hands. Wait them out and tell them through your lawyer that your offer stands pending a clean environmental report, from a company you pick. I used Lombardo Environmental, 1800 896 3390, very professional.

Click here to help make biking better in JC!

Because this money was collected from lots and lots of mostly anonymous donors, before the voting system was implemented, Bike JC is going to choose where the racks it pays for are installed.

So ... any suggestions?

I tossed in money for the ride, and donated $150 for the rack in the web site and $10 for the group, the page said I would be directed to a page to vote, the link was a dead link, no way back, but, the next day my Amex account showed a $160 charge from them. So much for having a say.

He should have distanced himself from him from the beginning but he needed every vote he could to get elected.
I really hope he never comes back here.

How can a person who demonstrates that he himself can not live up to the standards he is charged with enforcing hold such a position? He should be barred from any such position for life!

What's amazing here is that this is a guy that's scamming the system, the same guy that was a code enforcement official notorious for changing requirements during inspections without any mercy for the property owner. It's one thing to do your job, quite another to require things to be done that weren't planned, identified, required or approved. Let's see if the city can extend to him the same courtesy and show him the door based on his inherent dishonesty. I have attended meetings with him, he shows no compassion, he only seeks to flex his muscle regardless of the impact or costs.

Is the Star Ledger owned by Kushner as we'll? They wrote an article about Fulop that was every bit as favorable. It seems that your Anti Fulop position is driving this. You keep adding 2+2 and they come up 0. Do facts have anything to do with your positions? I can't see it from your posts.

The GC on that job represents himself as someone who understands the "system" in the building department. Perhaps with the change in administration he's not as effective as he once was.

Once again, wrong Kushner. Charles was to be appointed by McGreevey the background check was not the issue campaign contributions were. As for the May 29 report KRE had to make some deals with the Port Authority to get the zoning and variances they needed from the city. The only connection is that they are brothers everything else regarding this relationship is false.

There is a PATH report that came out either in late Mayor or late June. This report which is online, is about Kushner using his own money to fix the PATH. Why would a person use their own money to enhance the PATH at Journal Square? The answer is - you have property that surrounds or is near Journal Square. Besides it is not slander to say someone owns property in Journal Square. If you look all over Jersey City you see the Kushner logo, I believe it is KRE. Let's not forget, McGreevey's appointment to the PATH when he was governor was Kushner, but Kushner had to go through a background check, so he declined the appointment. This was in the papers. It is not slander. Kushner's son is married to Trump's daughter, so why is it wrong to mention development?

For the third time please check your facts. The Kushner you are talking about is Charles Kushner he runs the Kushner Companies and has nothing to do with Journal Square The one that built Grove Point is KRE and is run by his brother Murray. Different people. Different business ethics and different connections. They split up as partners over a decade ago and in this regard have nothing to do with each other and your insinuations about KRE are absolutely false. Do a simple google search and check it out yourself. I believe the New Yorker did an article on the rift between the 2 brothers a few years back.

The 30 years tax abatements have to stop.

I don't profess to know libel law you sub moron. I know a misstatement of fact when I see one. You spew volumes of such misstatements when it suits your needs its all sour grapes. Surely it would have been different if you we're elected. Thank god that didn't happen, and will likely never happen. Yvonne was slamming the wrong Kushner as someone who professes to be an advocate for the people you both should be more careful. Fulop has a tough job ahead of him stop your bellyaching and do something that would be constructive.

Fulop does not want to do a reval because he plans on giving 30 year abatements to Journal Square. Kushner, who helped McGreevey in his mayoral and governor bids owns a lot of Journal Square. Kushner son Jared also owns the NY Observer, a paper that give Fulop the positive press. People would be furious with 30 years abatements while their taxes are going up 3 times the due to revaluation. Bottom line, no mayor can stop a reval.

If I was the Kushner that "owns a lot of Journal Square" I would sue you for slander. You should check your facts before slandering people.

I am sure its a simple calculation. My guess is that whoever rents the space pays 25% of the tax load on the building, and the entire SID bill. The SID tax is charged against commercial properties, so Steve being the good citizen that he is, and SID board member/officer, will surely pass these fees onto whoever rents the space. Actually a shrewd move considering the pending instability of those taxes.

If I was closing a sidewalk, or blocking the street for some purpose (like construction) I would have to pay for the police presence in 4 hour increments, Why does the taxpayer have to bear this? Shouldn't this come out of the campaign funds? After all it's not due to their positions on the public tab.

I received a shut-off notice yesterday claiming a bill that I paid via online banking 3 weeks ago, same as I have been doing for 6 years at this address, was never paid.

Anyone else have a similar experience? Or any good ideas about how to get a person on the phone?

I've called several times today and can't seem to get anyone to pick up - just keeps recycling the same annoying hold message over and over - I think I'll be reciting it in my sleep. . .

Had a similar experience, ended up sending an email to customer service, look on the bill its listed there. Sent scanned images of my proof. (cancelled check in my case)
They never confirmed the emails, so I keps sending them every day for a week, marking them, first notice, second notice, etc etc, finally got a response that they are working on it. It took about 6 days.

There's apparent quite a few more, but whatever. All you can do is speak the truth, without namecalling or going over the top, and then move on. People can read and come to their own conclusions about what he's up to.

If anyone wants to patronize a business that's less capricious, you can go a block away to Ayaan Inc at 305 Grove St., another FedEx Authorized Ship Center where they're happy to honor their contract with Fedex and accept prepaid packages, and render any other shipping services you need. I've only used them twice, but no problems so far.

And after you have used up your good will there, we can create a topic called Ayaan Inc., slam them and send people to Global Mail, another FedEx Authorized ShipCenter, at 72 Van Reipen Ave.

The Fedex site describes Postnet as a "FedEx Authorized ShipCenter". He obviously gets a discounted rate to make a profit, as opposed to any account holder like me who could print a label for you and schedule a pickup. The experience you describe is what I experienced for a while, until the last time when I was told to go elsewhere. There was no exchange other than "where do I put the ground package", and it had been months since the last time I had been in. And yes, I have told Fedex of my experience at Postnet.

The Fedex web site says
"FedEx Authorized ShipCenters provide access to the FedEx transportation network at over 5,800 independently owned and operated pack and ship locations across the U.S. Stores participating in the FedEx Authorized ShipCenter program also provide many other business services. Please note that these retailers may apply additional charges to the FedEx published rates."

It doesn't say he has to take your package, it does however say he can charge a premium for his services, which means he can charge to take your package if he wishes.

The guy probably had a bad day, give him a break. He is providing a service, get over it.
