Now that the old shoe repair place that was next to Little Sandwich shop is gone, does anyone know of a place downtown to get your shoes shined?

Thanks in advance.

not only is it excessive (considering all the new stop signs in the area), but it also seems to be contributing to the cluster-f that already is rush hour traffic on erie getting to the tunnel. you have to go so slowly over it, that traffic backs up to 6th street and no one can get through the intersection before the light changes.

seriously. that website is a joke too. trying to make themselves look fancy, then you click on the menu and see buffalo wings and burgers.

there's absolutely no need to go to this place with la rustique, razza, roman nose, and abbondanza.

construction seems back on. doors were open and workers inside today, but looks a long way from being done. basically everything framed out, and ply wood up.

Key Foods on Jersey has come a long way since it was C-Town. Good in a pinch for regular groceries. Target for detergent, cleaning supplies, etc.

After seeing this thread last week, I decided to try out 2nd St Bakery's breakfast. I've gotten regular Italian sandwiches for lunch here over the years, but after trying their egg sandwich yesterday, I almost felt ashamed that I hadn't given their breakfast a try before.

First of all, the cinnamon bread is ridiculously good. Nothing at all like a sticky, icing loaded cinnabon roll. No icing at all, just cinnamon and sugar swirled throughout delicious bread. And their egg sandwiches - I got the spicy Italian sausage with provolone - were amazing. Real eggs, cooked perfectly, and of course their amazing bread. I almost wanted to get peppers and potatoes on it too, but that will be another time when I'm not gorging myself on the cinnamon bread beforehand.

I still haven't been able to find anything out on the Liberty State Park fireworks. I'm just assuming they're not happening again this year.

Does anyone know if the NYC fireworks will be on the Hudson again this year? I've read "location TBD" in a few places, and that it will be on the Hudson again in a few places. I came across an article dated July 2012 that was talking about moving them back to the East River this year.

On a related note, has anyone heard anything about the Liberty State Park fireworks returning?

Thanks.
