Re: Downtown: Jersey City cop injured when cruiser crashes into parked car

I walked by the accident after it happened. That police officer had to be cruising at some real speed to demolish the Audi the way he did. Her trunk was in the back seat. The back of her car ended up on the sidewalk and the front out on Brunswick. No 20 MPH in my opinion. On top of that he pushed her into a Toyota, which in turn was pushed into the Honda SUV in front of it. So when will we find out what really happened and who the officer was? The poor woman that owned that Audi was shocked when she came to move her car a little while after the accident. You would have thought that the PD would have notified her when the accident happened. She stood there dumbfounded! Can't blame her for being a little pissed off !

Oh please don't mention Golden Cicada. Was in there a few weeks ago and headed for the mens room which was totally unkept and disgusting. Touched the door knob to enter and two days later came down with a viral infection....Dr. confirmed it was probably from touching the mens room door knob or even being 10 feet from the urinal. Three days later I finally felt better. Talked to a couple of patrons and they told me he refuses to clean the bathroom ever ? What's up with that....too cheap. Please you need to provide a sanitary bathroom area for both men/women. After being sick and all I never frequented the place again - Jos. the Redhead

Call your insurance company first. Ask them to send you copies of what was paid out. Some companies (B/C & B/S of NJ) have contracts with doctors and doctors accept what B/C&B/S pays them and write off the rest. The policyholder or subscriber usually will owe nothing. So make sure you owe it before contacting the Dr. office. Seems a little odd that you are just getting the bill now? Definitely check it out and you may be surprised to find out you don't really owe it !

Dickie Dee's is the ULTIMATE hot dog place. Years ago Ting-A-Ling's was down there too by Branchbrook Park and they were great. Dickie Dee's has been there as long as I can remember, still drive there from JC to get a great dog. For a local place Boulevard Rocks too !

At least give Secaucus Animal Hospital a try, last time I was there Dr. Hansen didn't recommend a lot of procedures she thought was necessary cause I could not afford them and said let it go until we really need we think the dog needs them...if the dog is acting as normal as they always do then don't do anything to change it. But if you see a difference in their normal behavior or habits then call me and we will take it from there...they are not looking to rip you off.

Had Husdon Roll Up do our roll down gate. Worked for a month and then the motor kept stopping/shutting off. Called Caesar who told us he didn't warranty the motor only the gate itself - like WTH? Turns out we called the mfg. of the motor who informed us it was not even a new motor, probably an old one he had laying around. So we got screwed within a month. He's on Garfield Avenue in Greenville and I would not suggest giving him a call !

The benches go further down Newark Avenue at least to Monmouth, along with the fancy new street lights I think they add a bit of charm to our City. However, paving Newark Avenue and some side streets would have been a better choice to spend the taxpayer dollars.

I can give you an answer but I need to know is it a two story home? Is there a basement or attic - before you can design a system you need to know what you are working with. Let me know.

Next step in this conversation - Unico sucks ! Outrageously expensive, up to 6-8 rat holes in every room that are disgusting to look at - these units do not even meet the Federal Energy Commission requirements. They were given a reprieve to keep producing. Their fancy website will tell you that they can just snake these through your walls and that's total b.s. Every wall that was ever built has cleats in them and you're not snaking anything through them. They will have you believe that a contractor can install them in your vintage home without producing a dust molecule. The fact of the matter is they are going to destroy your house and you'll be eating plaster dust for years to come. The system as a whole is a total farce.

Avoid mini split a/c's at all costs. I called New England HVAC in Hoboken who we dealt with for many many years and was told these units really stink ! They are all Asian hybrids and do not function properly. In 40 yrs. of business all they do is spend their time and your $ on the phone with a rep at a California "think tank" repairing them...not a good idea and we were told to go with a conventional system. They are nothing more than a "ticking time bomb" and then TRY and fine someone to repair them when they go bad. I've dealt with New England for years and consider them to be above "professional". If you want more info call them and they'll give you the low down on these units. Can't hurt to call and ask them and they'll inform you of the pros and cons. Just a suggestion!

There is a "new place" Kickboxing business on Brunswick Street, between 2nd & 3rd St. Next door to Eco Foods. Not sure of their # but maybe you could go in and ask - I just noticed it the other day but am not sure of the exact name.

I can only say that either you're in the 3rd grade or a total moron ! Did you grow up in Istanbul where they crap in a hole in the floor and use water to cleanse themselves? Do you live in the 18th Century? WHO THE HELL CARES WHAT THE LANDLORD TOLD YOU - your SOB landlord is too cheap to fix it and thinks he can blame you if something happens. Snap out of it and call the Health Department, then the Building Department and let them deal with your landlord. USE toilet paper like every other NORMAL human being in the downtown area. Then let him prove the toilet paper was yours! I lived downtown for 17 years and never heard of something so outrageously ridiculous. Why on earth would you believe what he is telling you. You don't need a lawyer - you need to use toilet paper and let your landlord worry about whether or not the lines clog. NOT YOUR PROBLEM MY FRIEND. I am not believing he sent you a Certified Letter because if he did he just "hung himself". He'd be the laughing stock in any court room and he is obviously intimidating you and you are falling for it. You live in America - not some third world hell hole.
I think this whole post is a bunch of B.S. because no one can be that stupid. My ten year old would run circles around you.

Find some legit subject matter because you look like a damn fool.

But the Jeep wasn't broken into yet he knew the keys for the Explorer were missing? So he left the Jeep unlocked and just decided to check for the Explorer keys? Did he need the insurance $ or something?

So how'd they get the keys if the Jeep wasn't broken into ? Maybe he left an envelope on the window with the keys in it.

I believe to the left is Jersey Avenue and if you go to the next street that would be Newark Ave - make a right and that church is the church you see when you exit the Bank of America Bldg. from their parking lot and the church would be on First St. right in front of you. I think (???)

Beachguy~
I thought we were talking about what the F.D. did or didn't do. They DID NOT pump out the tavern which was the original post.

I agree Healy is a dead beat MORON - but stick to the post of pumping out his sons tavern. This was not a political issue of who you like and don't like.

On that note I agree with you - Healy and Lautenburg can kiss my cheeks !
I commented only because they were pumping out the fire department mostly - which is on that main intersection - so that they could get to help other people, I could give a crap about Healy and his degenerate son !

Fedup - I think you have the wrong impression here - yes it certainly was the "street" they were pumping out not the bar. One of the biggest fire companies is located there and they were actually making waves in their driveway to get through the water. The entire intersection of Fifth Street, Merseles Street & Newark Avenue was so bad that the cars could not get through. People were being diverted to other routes because of the horrendous flooding conditon. At one point they closed the entire intersection. The bar just happened to be across the street and I don't think that was their biggest concern.

We were told that the F.D. no longer pumps out buildings for people. So it was not the bar they pumped out, it was the street.

PSE&G is hosing you for sure. If the hot water heater has an electronic ignition it may take a couple hours to dry out. But as said in previous post you can light it yourself. You don't need a new one because of a little water. Don't give in tell them you're keeping the one you have and it works fine.

They can't fine you a dime - just their way of making money without having to work for it. Hope you don't have their worry free program either - just another scam.

Take the time to read the blogs on foreclosure in the JC Independent and NJ.com. I have only one question - out of all the blogs, posts, news articles etc. was there any substance of information on foreclosure? To date, all we know is that they are in foreclosure. NOTHING MORE-

The other 10,000 sentences are about Gabby, her feelings, her growing up, her "biggers", her lousy husband, her needs and wants not being met, her desires, her cares for her children, her not having a/c, her kids having iphones, ballet and fencing lessons, her college years, her vacations or staycations, her car, her renovations, her new one woman show, her photography, her pilates, her aerobics, her teaching swimming, her attitude on all subjects, her writing, her being part of the community, her wanting better things, her wanting to rent, her spending $ out of control when times were good, her wanting out of debt and her shame for being in foreclosure, her husbands job, the IRS and all her tales of woe.

So where exactly is the INFORMATION on foreclosure? Where are the details of what they are doing about it? Where are the details of how they are going to proceed? Have they approached the bank now that they are both working for quite some time? What were they told to do? How can they overcome this? What groups/organizations can they advise people to use in the same situation? What tips or advice can they SHARE with people? What solid help can they give to other people because they've been there? What do the lawyers say?

If your blog is about foreclosure then make it about FORECLOSURE. Stop making the blogs about "I love me" and write some relevant insight to help others that actually "care" they are in foreclosure - write about the devastation and the concerns. No one cares whether your kids can go to camp this year or attend ballet. They want help not your life history!

I don't totally disagree with you on the bank practices, BUT fact of the matter is these two blew $ left and right and now want someone to feel sorry for them. I know of two other couples in foreclosure that have gone to the bank, lawyers etc. to get help. They are not posting their sorrows on JC list or NJ. com - they are doing their best to "actually DEAL with it and get help". Gabby wants a Pity Party to add to her Portfolio along with her photography studio and Esther Williams Swim Classes. Her kids aren't suffering, they attend fencing, swimming and ballet - BUT she's in foreclosure? My friends in foreclosure cannot afford those luxuries yet make every effort to reconcile with the bank and work it out. Gabby sits home eating ice cream sandwiches bitching about how bad life is because her a/c isn't working. My friends in foreclosure can't afford to pay for a/c so they don't use it. Oh please Gabby get a life Princess, get off the horse and come down to reality. Stop the nonsense and the ongoing saga of your "poor life" and what you miss. YOU BLEW IT - YES YOU ! Stop blaming your husband for your non caring blind attitude. He didn't do this to you, you did it to yourself. I haven't an ounce of sympathy for you because you still live high on the hog !

Dear Gabby - or should I say Dear Abby?

Being somewhat educated I find the blogs, posts, news articles and the hoopla to be rather nauseating. The nj.com article was the icing on the cake. I tried to decipher segments to give credence to what you write about. Your proclamations that you "left it all to him to manage" even when you knew what was going on - or "it took a lot to shake this princess out of a coma to make her grow up" or "debt weighs on you, shames you and embarrasses you" seem quite contrary to your every day living. Your FB posts can confirm this. Is it really that awful living in foreclosure? You want something different because you are done with credit cards, loans and debt? I take that to mean you want to walk away rather than face the music? You are planning vacations and your children are still attending all the activities you cannot afford. You've made no attempts to get things back on track and we should feel sorry for you. So what really is the down side here? You've publicized your entire life and marital difficulties to everyone but your husband. Some issues so personal are boasted about in your blogs. I find that embarrassing and shameful. You speak of your husband as a third party and a somewhat useless one at that. Should we surmise that this is your way of getting out of a bad situation that you too created and now you're done with him? If you want a divorce go to a lawyer and keep it confidential. I, personally, am not interested in your every day activities, your children, your self absorbed world, your writer's club or whether or not you have air conditioning - if you want to put on a big show go to "Broadway". My stomach can't take much more of your ridiculous accounts of foreclosure. None of your articles "deal" with foreclosure. They deal with the saga of Poor Gabby - my heart is not bleeding for you -

It's the dive on the triangle of Newark Ave - noisy drunks all night long, garbage everywhere and yes it is owned by the Mayor's son who was arrested a month ago in Hoboken for domestic violence beating up his girlfriend/wife. Can't wait to visit the joint to see all the new renovations - can't be any worse than the previous bars that were there. A real slum pit.
