Cars passing me is a big fear on large streets. I saw somebody posted above that you can't ride on the sidewalk, is that true?
Do I have to have a helmet when I ride?

About Hoboken being nice to bikers, I think every city Hoboken and above are good. I followed this bike route from JC http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/NYC-to-GWB-to-Hoboken

I think the nice route ended in Fairview, but that might have been cause i was going the wrong way.

creativeconquests, Did you buy it or rent it? If you bought it, that really good

I agree with all the things you guys said, but not everyone knows how to park well, so the ones that don't will leave as much possible space.

langdonalger, whats even worse than the average big van like comcast, is when they put out the cones behind their car. It the end, they take up like 2 parking spaces. I'd like to put a few cones around my car so nobody parks close.

leigh13, My dad once got ticketed around Journal Square for being too close to the corner. So they do give out tickets for that, I think it just depends on the street.

Also, leigh13, I don't know if this ever happened to you, but if a person parks between you and the corner, it makes it more ovious that you passed the "red" zone the feet or two, and you might get a ticket too.

Re: Graffiti - Downtown

Anyone want to report this?

I tried once

No disrespect. This is like a mini memorial, but its not appealing to the city.

The can have all the things there, but not write it on the wall.

(By the way, every night like 10 peopel hang out there, i guess showing respect. If its removed, it might come back)

Re: Are Cops drinking on duty in JC? you have to see this video!!!

Thats excatly why I started that BJs topic

When cops are privately hired (especially in deserted places like in the video) they can do whatever they want.

They have nobody to supervise them

I hate things like these not because of what happened, but because this would not happen to an average person.

Quote:
He was able to give police the street names of several possible suspects, reports said.

If he knew the street names of these guys, then he knew the people one way or another and would probably have deserved it according to the suspects.

There is oviously more to this.

I think that Healy is a person that made Jersey City public not just to outsiders, but to Jersey City people aswell.

When Cunnigham was arround, I did not know anything about this city. No plans, no ideas, speaches. Nothing

Its changed with Healy. BTW, he is the one who i think organized the Mayors Against Guns program.

Information On Building Owners
Home away from home
Home away from home

The reason why I ask, is because i would like to purchase a condemened house.

Since nobody can live in it, I have no way to speak to the person.

I read online that I can contact the Housing Authority, but when i did, they said that they only handle public buildings.

Who, in Jersey City, can I contact to get info?

(P.S. I contacted City Hall, the redirected me to someone, and that person gave me info, but he only named the name of a corporation that owned the place, no number)

I go to Ferris

Havent seen any mold, but plenty of wet marks on the tiles.

I know that something leaked and they redid the gym or something.

Well really i would love the Liberty State Park Bridge even more. It doesnt have to be a draw brige, it could be a Parabola looking or one you have to climb up and then go across. Something.

Re: Downtown: Ferris High School, another 'wolf pack' attack by gang of at least 15 boys

Here is what i think

The kids who get in these fights have parents who probably got pregnat while still in high school. I think the morals they are taught are

Stand Up For yourself
and don't ruin your reputation.

The thing is, if a bunch of kids, 15, are walking together, and i was a cop, i would walk around that area, make sure they see me, or call a car in just in case.

Its probably not that hard to spot.

harsimoose, yes, there is a posibility they were leaving school. who knows in a case like this. No facts are right.

Peabody, okay, so 60% end up in prison, and that is good cause they are off are streets? Well we then pay for their jail time.

If they had actual parents who cared, there wouldent be this problem by high school.

Well thats sad considering I go to Ferris High School
And i was wondering why there was more cops and more commotion today.

The school does have cameras, but do most of them work is the question. Security guards are lazy and once your out there, your out there.

I would personally blame the football team because they are the ones who lift all the weights and act so tough.

harsimoose, the incident (according to the article) took place durring lunch

And just to let you know, freshmen have to stay in for lunch

Thats all JC Public school (i think its cause of things like this) and they are working on making it like that for everybody.

Re: Wayne Street Issues
Home away from home
Home away from home

I really suggest you contact the media. Posibly the problem solvers people. If it will get on ch. 5, lots of people will know about it.

In my experience walking throught Wayne st. was not that bad, but i kept to myself and hardly looked around. People always tell me its a bad street.

If the media thing doesnt work out, post it on YouTube, really, and then post the link here. We will put views on it and it will grab attention (posibly of the media).

And i definatly thing you should have called the emergency number, 911
