It's sad to hear these PATH horror stories. But frankly, you have to be insane to go to the Village on Halloween.

I find it hard to believe that Barack never heard a hint of Rev Wright's bigot speeches during his long time part of the church.

None of the other crap brought up by Hilary or the news really bothered me until this. It is apparent that Barack is uncomfortable talking about this situation.

We got a hint at this in Michele Obama's comment that with Obama's candidacy "this was the first time in her life she was proud to be an American". It appears that Obama is a stealth candidate for the Sharptons, Farrakhan's and other black radicals.

Poor Saint Barack. He's backpeddling like crazy to avoid his connections to Rev. Wright, Tony Rezko and the Nation of Islam. And he looked so pure before.

JCNJ, if you are looking for an ophthalmologist and not an optometrist, I highly recommend mine:

Dr. Joanna Pruzon
Ophthalmologist
Hudson Eye Physicians & Surgeons LLC
600 Pavonia Ave. 6th Fl
Jersey City, NJ 07306
(201) 963-3937

Not sure what you consider "local," but although her office isn't downtown, it is conveniently located by the Journal Square PATH station.

Also part of the practice at 600 Pavonia is Dr. William Constad. He is a corneal specialist and excellent.

Bret Swindler is a legend in his own mind. But Sandy Cunningham would be a disaster for the City.

Re: The "Crony Chronicles"

Cronyism and nepotism in Hudson County government ? I'm shocked !!!

Those of us who have lived here for years know this is how our "governmental" system works. Those who hold elected office routinely "request" that their family members and relatives be put on County or City payrolls. This form of patronage is repaid by either working in elections for the HCDO and/or "contributing" (buying tickets to political fundraisers) to the election coffers of government officials.

It's a time honored Jersey City/Hudson County tradition. The only way it will ever end is if good people take a real interest in government and hold their elected officials responsible.

Alas, I doubt I will ever see it happen.

I hate to sound like a NRA type, but ...

In this town it's not the availabilty of guns that's the problem. The savages who roam our streets will gladly kill or disable you with clubs, knives, fists or whatever other mechanism comes to their minds at the moment.

Healy likes to demagogue this issue. He thinks it makes him look like a real Mayor. Everyone in the City knows better.
