Was education available for the masses during the Greek and early Roman period? Was healthcare available for the masses? The answer is no. The Kings and Queens of Europe collected money to build up their armies. It was the Catholic Church is Europe that build schools, universities, hospitals, brought about the study of science, had discussions on the dignity of man, and stopped the practice of fathers selling their daughters in marriage. The list can go on but I suggest you read the book.

The Catholic Church did not ever push for universal education. They also had the Latin mass to make the masses dependent on the priest for intercession with God. Protestants were the first to push for wider education.

Ancient Greece had wider access to education than any Catholic country achieved before the 19th century. Children were schooled from the age of 7, with even the poor getting an elementary education.

Try actual history next time.

I hadn't been there in a year. The food was pretty good to great, but the service was uneven, and the decor was cold and industrial, which put it at odds with the type of food they served. I always felt like I was eating in an incomplete office building in that space.

MAE was a gem though. I wish them luck in their next endeavor.

Rumi is great and the spot is waaaaaay too big for a sushi restaurant.

I was going to say the same... DTJC definitely has a great Mediterranean restaurant in Rumi. Or, for a quick bite or take out, there is Gipsy Grill which is hands down one of the cheapest lunch spots in all of DTJC.

I wouldn't mind a good Greek restaurant. Somewhere I could get my grilled octopus and retsina on. There are some very large tavernas in Astoria, but JC would not support a huge one. Too bad It's Greek to Me was vile.

And at least three Republican committee members have purposefully publicly released classified data with actual defense repercussions.

Actually, you don't think much anyway, hence why you don't understand why it can result in only three emails out of thousand inadvertently containing classified data.

Bonus facts about committee:

The Department of Homeland Security complained that Chaffetz illegally disclosed sensitive security information to the press when he was chair of the House Transportation committee. Other notorious Clinton hunter, Darrel Issa, put several people's lives in danger when he release State Department documents to the public that compromised the identities of several Libyans working for the US government(in an attempt to embarrass Clinton). Before that he published information from a sealed wiretap warrant application into the Congressional record.

Not just mishandling, but actual public disclosure.

Re: Jersey City Muslims Unite Against Trump

It's bullshit anyway. She can classify and declassify at will through delegation from the executive in furtherance of her duties as SoS.

Executive Order 13526

https://www.whitehouse.gov/.../executive-order-classified...

And the section 793 only applies to defense information, not all classified documents and data

__________________

specifically section 1.3a2 (not sure how to cite sub paragraphs and so on) that reads

"The authority to classify information originally may be exercised only by:
(1) the President and the Vice President;
(2) agency heads and officials designated by the President; and"

She would be (at the time) that agency head designated by the President.

Slightly further down in the same 1.3 section is a paragraph (c1) concerning delegation:

"Delegations of original classification authority shall be limited to the minimum required to administer this order. Agency heads are responsible for ensuring that designated subordinate officials"

Also in the EO is Part 3 - Declassification and Downgrading, Section 3.1a 1-4:

"(b) Information shall be declassified or downgraded by:
(3) a supervisory official of either the originator or his or her successor in function, if the supervisory official has original classification authority; or"

(skipping over a few paragraphs about the original official, their successor, etc).

So essentially, at the time she had the following authorities: original classification (of State Dept stuff), delegation of that authority, and declassification.

POLITIFACT 3/9/2016:

Our ruling

Clinton said, regarding her State Department email practices, "my predecessors did the same thing."

This is a misleading claim chiefly because only one prior secretary of state regularly used email, Colin Powell.
Powell did use a personal email address for government business, however he did not use a private server kept at his home, as Clinton did.

We rate this claim Mostly False.

Powell grandstanded with classified reports on yellowcake to the General Assembly to justify the invasion of Iraq. Is that information declassified?

I call bullshit on the bullshit.

It could be one of the wild monk parrots in the area. They range all over the area.

I use AT&T for two reasons. My wife's employer gives us a nice 20% discount, for one. The second is that one pool of data can be shared between all connected devices on the plan. We have our two phones and two iPads sharing 20GB, so my iPad mini mounted in my car can be used for navigation and streaming, and can be popped out to use as a tablet when I travel, while not needing its own dedicated data plan, which is what it would need on Verizon.

It it increases the disparity in houses that are right next to each other. It can act as a guide, but does nothing to adjust for houses not on the market.

It should be an adjunct for assessments, not a substitute.

And plenty of towns do assessments on a timely basis. Not doing it is low level corruption.

Meh, that's how society functions. People who have more pay more. Such is life. I say this as someone who is likely to see his bill double.

Exactly. The current taxes in much of downtown are subsidized.

Not really. The demographics are against him. He would have to win more black and latino votes than Romney did, what with the decline of the prime conservative voter. Women will also vite against him in droves. This is literally a "come to Jesus" moment for the party of the Southern Strategy. The rubes know that the party elite have been playing them for decades, and have nowhere to turn, so the party is eating itself.

This election will push more red states to purple and more purple ones blue. Good riddance to the ever divisive nest of hate mongers.

I am looking forward to the dissolution of the conservative coalition as the neo-Confederates and bigots rip the Republican party apart and take the rest of the nativists with them. They can have the Yvonnes of the world.

People who whinge and whine about SJWs and PC are just mad that they have to keep their bigotry hidden, and they seethe about the latest issue that pushes the USD into a more progressive state.

They can be mad all they want. They lose anyway. They always will.
