It's still Jersey City and now a more affluent Jersey City so things are only going to get worse as far as property crime. Car thefts, break ins and home burglaries were commonplace there and will continue to be. Residents who seem to have no clue as to their surroundings doesn't help.

The whole point is that Jersey City should never be someone's "short cut" to the Holland Tunnel. Slowed traffic is safer and, if you live in JC, expected.

@Yvonne - your position on this topic is simply close-minded and dogma-based, not science-based. You decry anything that doesn't conform to your dogma as "lies". And as far as families go - I'd bet more families are destroyed over conforming to your kind of dogma, than so-called "lying" to kids about gender. My sister divorced her husband over his bullying of my nephew - who incidentally knew he was gay at a very early age.

It's pretty arrogant to pretend to know what changes happen to the brain during early pregnancy - and how that impacts gender identity and sexual orientation - when science can't yet fully explain it. Dogma and rhetoric certainly doesn't.

My position is based on facts, if transgender truly exists, then picking our gender would be as simple as changing our clothes. The term is called body dysmorphia disorder. Some people with this disorder believes their hands or legs do not belong to their bodies and have asked doctors to cut off those parts. This is similar. It is the reason doctors have filed the lawsuit with HHS mandate and luckily they have won. You are not helping anyone who needs counseling, you are making the problem worse. We cannot pick our gender like we cannot pick our parents. Somethings in life are just a given. The only thing you can do is to make a freak out of this girl if she take hormones and have surgery to remove her breasts and implant a non-working penis.

Yvonne, when did you choose to be heterosexual? Was it an easy decision or were there moments of doubt? I mean, you really think people choose these things?

History tends to remember key promises presidential aspirants made - here is a link to a few http://www.cnn.com/2012/08/22/politic ... ry/presidential-promises/

It probably depends on what promise, and how important it is to most people. Take his promise to defund Planned Parenthood - only important to a handful of rightwing extremists, I doubt most of the country will care. The economy, however - that's a big one - I think his legacy will rise or fall on how well he does with that.

These guys believed all the wild conspiracies about Hillary and thus are doing things they think are normal "hey we're in charge" bullshit. Just look at Ivanka's father-in-law. These guys are birds of a feather. It ain't just the Dems who want them ALL out of there. The Republicans already have the long knives ready. It's gonna be fun to watch!!

Read the facts on NAFTA dumb ass. Started under Bush, voted in by more Republicans than Democrats. ACA was passed by Democrat majority.

So did you vote for Hillary's Public Face..... or her Private Face?

People voted on jobs and the economy and the Republicans are just going back to their old nonsense which people are obviously sick of. The idea that the world has "gone to hell" is a lame and inaccurate argument. I believe that the people who lived through the 1930's and 40's will tell a much different story. Does Syria and ISIS and the Ukraine gnaw at the spirit? Yes, but the world is a much more peaceful place than most anytime in history. I remember the late 60's and 70's and how unstable the world seemed. That was when we truly were the most powerful country in the world. Meanwhile, we had Vietnam, The attacks on Israel, The strife in Ireland, Lebanon, Africa, Riots and protests across America. Assassinations and assassination attempts. Hijackings, Patty Hearst, Watergate and on and on. The world is a complicated place but we are hardly as bad as other key points in history. If people want to watch the news and cower and moan then they should stand up and take account of what truly is "tough times".

Yeah, that would have been an "example" of automation. In any case, after Trump's reign we will probably get a Democratic Socialist like we should have this time. Trump's attempts at a Patriarchy will ultimately get him impeached. His supporters will soon see the folly of following a "master" who will cuddle and care for them. The idea of a free education for college or trade school will be more appealing as technology outpaces the general populations brain/skills power.

TheBigGuy wrote:

LOL ... Toll Collector... a great "example" of a manufacturing job.

As for automation itself... I hope you keep the same "leave the country" attitude concerning the fastfood workers demanding $15 an hour.

Their jobs will be gone when the business owners install self service kiosks. So according to your logic, those low job skill people should go back to their country of origin too... racist!

Quote:

AlexC wrote:
The main reason manufacturing jobs are gone is because of technology and automation. Now it takes one person to oversee an army of mechanized robotic machines to perform complex, repetitive and dangerous tasks that workers used to do. Be thankful companies are outsourcing the dangerous work to other countries.

Example: toll takers in the Parkway and the Turnpike. That work should've been extinct 10 years ago.

You can' t compete? Then maybe you are the ones who should leave the country. Being a natural born citizen shouldn't afford you shit.
