This isn't about supporting more or fewer cafes. This is about changing residential zoning because one cafe didn't like the deal it made.

I don't know, but I think it's a disgrace and borders on negligence/incompetence that there is no traffic study. But we can't dump that all on Candace.

Well, we weren't angry. The place was hopping and we could see they were swamped. We asked to look at the menu for future, thanked the hostess and said we'll just try again another night.

We arrived around 6 pm on Friday evening. The hostess had a loong list and we were told it would be two hours. We went to Osteria and had a lovely meal in the courtyard.

If you actually want to speak to your wife and hear her answers, you might want to go elsewhere for dinner.

JCman, .... and that is how a property is blighted. "Blight" in a multimillion dollar neighborhood. Total abuse of the concept and back door to spot zoning.

New Cafe zoning on the agenda for 10 am tomorrow. Looks like Prato may get its "variance" without doing the work.

There are four agenda items for tomorrow's meeting affecting downtown:

City Hall RDP
Newark Pedestrian plaza
powerhouse arts
Cafe ordinance -- to bail out Prato permanently so they don't have to apply for a variance.

All at 10 am.

EasyGIbson, Prato can apply for a variance, just like any other business. Great contucci, but why should they be exempt without even applying?

Are "civilians" allowed to use that lot? I thought it was designated for city personnel.
