there's a reason they're called "tax and spend" democrats. jersey citt needs some political competition. I can't tell you how upsetting it is to see 15 cops patrolling that pedestrian zine or 5 cops going fir casual stroll ND coffee in the morning. all on taxpayers dime.

I think it's time to say adios to Dunlop and his team of socialists. I'm all for affordable houses but not at any costs. people in affordable housing should be paying their fair share.....that's the problem with projects....residents of many projects complain about all the problems but that's because they don't pay for upkeep

Don't be so sure about Fulop becoming next governor. Murphy narrowly won and many people are sick and tired of failed liberal, progressive soft on crime policies.

democrats are showing that they are essentially useless when it comes to crime. the new district attorney in manhattan doesn't even want to put muggers in jail; he wants to treat as a misdemeanor. He wants a 20 year maximum jail term for murder. crazee.

great news. but I think jc leaders need to pay a visit to Williamsburg
and other parts of nyc to see how attractive buildings with character and oenhances neighborhoods. I'm getting tired of looking at all these non-descript boxes in jcQuote:

CuriousCat wrote:
Hi,

The Journal Squared project at Journal Square from Pavonia Ave to Summit Avenue is about to begin.

I have mixed feelings: At one end, I enjoy some of the nice newer developments in the JC area. Because of them, I get to enjoy nearby restaurants, shops, parks, and just a nicer area than the current JSQ area, which is still clustered and dingy. At the other end, some nicer residential towers that are currently up and running demand rents that I, honestly, cannot afford.

This brings me to the residents about to be displaced. Where are middle income tenants like that suppose to go if they cannot afford to live in a nice building? They are being pushed out so others can enjoy the proximity to the trains leaving the current residents to find something (near transportation) with rent that is $2600+/a month or they would have to move out of JC.

Maybe it's just me but I feel there is no middle ground. It's either a place you can't afford in the luxury towers or a residence that is worse than where one currently is.

With that said, is there a place for middle income residents in JC that's decent?

This. 100%

Towers around the world in Asia, London and Dubai are really artful and pushing architecture forward.

And don't get me started how that JC waterfront could have been planned so much better with a world class promenade. What a wasted opportunity facing the incredible NYC skyline.
