Columbus Street
These lower income folks will soon be surrounded by gentrified wealth and yuppie stores... similiar to the government housing families on w18th and w19th in Chelsea.

 Re: Columbus "Drive"
I lived here for 1 year. When i moved into the apartment it was "renovated". I was paying $1300 a month for a one bedroom. The building has alot of character if only DelForno would please sell it to someone that will invest in it. The location was awesome, but most of tenants are a joke and should not live downtown! I had 5 people living above me in a one bedroom apartment. (Sound Illegal) The rats in the basement/garbage room were the size of cats. Mice were all over the building. There were leaks all over the building. Marty the building manager is a the worst building manager you can ever ask for. I went a summer with no AC becuase it was a "fire hazard". It would take three letters to have some bogus plumber come. These apartments if renovated to the original finishes which by the way are very nice, but covered up by a drop ceiling can easily be high end apartments.

Steve: I don't see the remark as negative on the poor folk. If anything, it's negative on the moneyed class. But then I'm biased. I call one of those apartments home.

The vast majority of these people are hard working honest individuals.
Just because someone can afford a nice home and expensive car doesn't make them a "good" person.

I don't generally like quoting films however I feel this is appropriate: "We cook your meals, we haul your trash, we connect your calls, we drive your ambulances. We guard you while you sleep. Do not f--- with us."

Great painted signage on the building - I'd never even noticed that before. Thanks for catching it on film.
