This was an ordinance that Watterman and Mira Prinz-Arey voted in 2018. If you vote on an ordinance then you should not benefit. By the way, Watterman had her daughter as her council-aide but got flak so her daughter now works for EDC and her son works for the county.

Jersey City reimbursed two city council members for thousands of dollars in tuition for higher education courses, drawing criticism from a local good government group who say the expenses were an improper use of public money to further elected officials’ private careers.

Jersey City Council President Joyce Watterman and Ward B Councilwoman Mira Prinz-Arey together received a total of $8,924 in publicly funded reimbursement for classes they attended, according to documents obtained by local government accountability group Civic JC through an open public records request.
