sounds valid concern...

he properties consist of a mostly vacant Z-shaped lot on the south side of the street in front of St. Peter?s ballfield (don?t worry dive bar fans, the property does not include the Golden Cicada), plus a parking lot at the north side of the street directly adjacent to Our Lady of Czestochowa.

The residential portion of the project will help Our Lady of Czestochowa, a Catholic school, pay for an expansion of their academic facility across the street.

Sounds good to me!

Because Prep doesn't own the development - Fields Development Group (Rob and Jim Caulfield out of Hoboken) does. They built the Madox across the street, too. Prep swapped parcels with Fields and Fields provided space in the building for the athletic center as part of the deal.

Possibly but the original now vacant schoolhouse with all the scaffolding around it would need to come down along with the very low rise cafeteria - very decent size plot in a prime area.

The athletic building has somthing very non kosher about it (straying from the proposed architectural diagrams) with a ton of floors going up above it with what look like apartment /condos - anyone got the skinny on this fat ?

Good grief, they forgot to get their 30 year tax abatement. After all, if a college which receives state funding gets 30 years, why can't a private school which receives no funding from taxpayers not have this deal? Someone should be fired for not being on the ball and gouging taxpayers.

Anyone have purchase / price info on the condos being built above their new athletic center on Van Vorst ?
