I disagree. It's really a job for a pro. Negotiating a couch through tight corners is NOT a DIY job. It takes years of training to even become skilled in the art ofproperly lifting a couch, no less the physics defying skilll required of a professional mover. For highly trained licensed and insured couch mover, expect to pay upwards of $900. Money well spent!!!!

You may be able to find someone willing to moonlight for less, but be careful.

Did you even read the OP? It's in an apartment in an elevator building and it's going to THE CURB! $900+ to take out one (large) item of trash is beyond stupid IMO...

I'm pretty certain that Dinger was being sarcastic. At least, I really hope that is the case.

If you want the best, my price is $1,050. Also included is a complementary spray with Febreze for that new couch smell.

I was thinking the same: some neighbors or friends, for beers and pizza and a chance to catch up, hang out together and some friendly banter.

We are looking for assistance in having a couch moved out of our apartment in Jersey City. We are in an elevator building. We are just moving it from the apartment unit to the curb. Ideally, we would like to have this moved on Sunday 10/30, but also have some other dates available. We are looking for a reasonable estimate, as this is a small job.
