Thank you MDM, I also hope there are filters/scrubbers employed as the legislation surely demands. But it definitely were no clouds, it was plumes of bright crimson smoke, I even thought maybe they are honoring the breast cancer in this weird way.
Is it still possible, if all were as it should have been, that this color of smoke it emitted?

Steam clouds can look like smoke sometimes from light refraction and shadow.

That facility uses either electrostatic precipitator or bags (big fiberglass filters), so there isn't much in the way of particulate that is going to be emitted.

Stole my joke!

I'll have to go with the alternative... Their burning the files on Fulop's donor hires.

Did anyone else see this? Driving home on 1/9N to JC yesterday (~5:30 pm) I noticed a bright crimson/purple smoke coming out of the Newark incinerator plant.
Quick google seems to indicate this happens regularly? https://twitter.com/jgcoraci/status/302184467454390273

Whatever on earth are they burning there, can't be any good. Makes me want to re-think the intention to move to the West Side, it all blows right over the river.
