The great thing about these is they can be used to inflate almost anything - bicycle tires, air mattresses, exercise balls...

Our Soul came with a pump and sealant instead of a spare! I guess it was a move to save both money and weight. Some owner buy a spare anyway.

It's about the money, the weight of a spare isn't more than 1% of the curb weigh, not really significant.

I wouldn't have a car without a full size spare. If you have anything more than a small hole, like you might get from a nail, sealant isn't going to be very useful. And driving on a donut spare for any duration isn't much fun.

And maybe I am just unlikely but when I have a tire issue it seems to happen at inconvenient times and places.

Now, if you can't or won't change a tire then I guess it doesn't really matter if you have a spare in your trunk.

Tire pressure should be checked when the tires are cold. That's hard to do if you're driving to get free air unless you're going to Costco for their free Nitrogen.

Most people forget to check their spare tires until they need them. If you don't have your own pump don't forget.

Car dealers try to upsell this all the time.

I have costco but my tires were not installed by them. Can I still get nitrogen gas from them?

also thanks folks for sharing their secrets ^_^ I used to use sunoco on tonnelle, still monthly minor adjustments for $1 became tedious.

Tip. Overfill your tire by a few PSI then bleed the excess with one of these. I prefer dials to digital - no batteries to worry about.

Tire gauge.

Nothing is free these days I guess.

I'm failing to see what you were attempting to add to the conversation, as your post was neither about free air, or Jersey City.

I may regret this secret but I did just get 4 new tires so I really don't have a need anymore. (damm those slow leaks)

The Quick Chek in Bayonne on 53rd by the TP entrance has two free air machines. The good kind that let?s you set the pressure and pump until it beeps.

A tip don?t go there in the morning during the workweek the place is a mad house with people getting gas and breakfast?and air. .

Ralph's on NW corner Erie & 4th. Erie runs north; 4th, west; and Yuppies, east.
