If you zoom in, Hoboken has a low percentage of uninsured - it's the Heights that has the higher rate. Zooming out apparently melds the two areas into one, making Hoboken look worse than it is.

Thanks for posting, What I find surprising is Bayside Park area (48% insured) of GV has more insured than some parts of dtjc and Hoboken. Very interesting.

Might be that there are more free-lancers and artists that don't have insurance or maybe just a larger % of young people. There may also be foreigners doing rotational assignments with insurance from their home countries that doesn't get included.

Maybe or maybe rent is so high they can't afford it.

A lot of odd artifacts in that map. Do you suppose medicaid count as insured?

Yes, for example we have 20% which is publicly insured. Which I assume is Medicaid and Medicare. However I assume teachers, firemen and other city and state employees are a part of the publicly insured as well. Which BP has a cluster of public workers.

Anyone else see this?

I guess its not shocking that JCDT and Hoboken are not opaque... and I find the contrast of the two locations to Brooklyn interesting.

Wondering if the >10% on the Hoboken waterfront is the influence of Stevens students.
