A 26-year-old North Bergen woman was beaten and robbed by her former boyfriend and his mother on the same day as she'd taken out a restraining order against the man, police said.

Justin Winters, 30, and his mother, Lisa Petrillo, 51, both of Jersey City, attacked the woman from behind around 9:45 Tuesday night at 43rd Street and Meadowview Avenue, North Bergen police said.

Winters and Pterillo got out of a vehicle and knocked the woman down, police reports said.

While Winters beat her in the face and body with an unknown weapon, Petrillo took the woman's purse, jewelry and cell phone, reports said.

The two then fled, leaving the woman with injuries to her face, arms and rib cage, police said.

The woman was taken to Palisades Medical Center for treatment, reports said.

Last night, North Bergen police arrested Winters and Petrillo at their Jersey City home, reports said.

Winters was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, unlawful possession of a weapon, endangering injured victim, violating a temporary restraining order and conspiracy to commit a robbery.




He was taken to the Hudson County jail in Kearny, where he was held on $75,000 bail, cash or bond, reports said.

Petrillo was charged with one count of robbery and was also taken to the county jail, reports said.
