The IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center on Montgomery Street in Downtown Jersey City is permanently closing at noon on Friday.
The IRS office, located at 30 Montgomery St., will consolidate with a similar office at 20 Washington Pl. in Newark. That office will be closed on Monday, July 16 until noon to accommodate the consolidation. The Montgomery Street location was one of a number of walk-in IRS offices throughout the state that offered taxpayers face-to-face assistance with their taxes. The Newark office is generally open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.IRS Closing DTWN JC
