Jersey City clothing designer shows his passionate love for the city

By Julius Zeitlinger/The Jersey Journal

A Jersey City man has designed and produced a clothing line that shows exactly how he feels about the city.

Dennis Whittinghill, owner of Damaged Wear, is selling graphic T-shirts with art that reads ?I F---ing Love Jersey City.?

Whittinghill, 37, who has lived in Jersey City since 2004, wanted to express his feelings about the city. ?I love Jersey City and I wanted to make something fun for my friends to wear,? said Whittinghill.

Below the phrase on the T-shirt is graffiti with the Jersey City skyline in the background.

Whittinghill, who has owned Damaged Wear for two years, said he?s sold hundreds of the Jersey City-loving T-shirt online and will soon be hawking the shirt and other clothing items at the LITM restaurant and bar on Newark Ave.

Originally from Elizabeth, Whittinghill said he?s considering creating similar T-shirts for other towns.

?The response to the shirts has been great. Everywhere I go, people always tell me that I should make one for their town,? said Whittinghill.

The Jersey City-centric shirts are being sold for $29.99 at damagedwear.com. Damaged Wear also has the Jersey City art on tank tops, hoodies, and long sleeve T-shirts.
