Yes, Mike was killed in a motorcycle accident on Saturday in Bear Mountain in NY. According to a viewer, he crossed the yellow line and was hit head on by a SUV.

Our family (including our dog) will greatly miss Mike. It is tough to lose someone that you trust with your home and your dog on a daily basis.

Rest Easy Mike

I am in shock. Micheal's and my path's crossed all the time, and every time there was the friendly chat. Does anyone have any idea of what happened and where?
My heart goes out to his wife and daughter. Very sad about this loss.

So sad how someone so young, vibrant and full of life is suddenly and so abruptly gone. He will surely be missed.

Mike was an amazing guy! We were so impressed with him and appreciated everything he did for us and Gracie. The best things about him, he was always positive and could not have loved his daughter more.

We will miss you Mike.

It sure is. I just saw him last Thursday walking briskly up Grand Street with a dog trotting confidently at his side. He was very good at what he did and always stayed positive in everything that he faced.

Mike and I were always in a hurry and sometimes his quick hello was a fist bump as he continued one way and I the other way.

Rest easy Mike. We will never forget you. Your clients and their dogs miss you.

Thanks for posting this, Mary Ann. Mike was always so friendly & up-beat whenever our paths crossed. He was one of the more visible dog-walkers in JC & from what I hear all his clients adored him, both the human ones & the dogs!. He will be missed.

Cross Posted from DOGJC:

So so sad to report Michael Antanaitis the creator and owner of Joggy Doggy has passed:
http://www.joggydoggy.com/About.html

We first met Mike early last Spring when he confidently, politely and graciously introduced himself to us in Van Vorst Park. He explained he wanted to befriend all the local pet care providers and let us know about his new service.
I remember we were very impressed with him and told him we thought his company offerings were refreshing and needed in the community. We welcomed him wholeheartedly. Since that time we would often run into him on our walk rounds, chat and catch up a bit.

We did not know Michael very well, but it was clear to us he was a hard working, animal loving professional that will be missed very much. We will miss his big smile, quick humor and snippet stories...which we are sworn to secrecy and will never repeat. The code of our profession you see :)

Michael and his family lived in Paulus Hook. He left behind a lovely wife and small daughter. Bless you Mike. Your clients, dogs, and all of us will miss you very much.

Michael's Funeral is Tomorrow:
at 12 Noon at:
Platt Memorial Chapels
2001 Berlin Road,
Cherry Hill, NJ, 00803
Arrive Between 11:15 and 11:30

In lieu of Flowers please send:
College Savings Plan for the benefit of his daughter Isabella Antanaitis Directly to:
The Beckett Group of Merrill Lynch, 12 Howard Blvd, 3rd Floor, Mt Laurel, NJ
