that's too bad... she was always very nice and would smile when I use to run in that area - she seemed like a very nice woman

This is very sad to hear.

I found her obituary online:

Susan was a lifelong resident of Jersey City and although she lived many places throughout the city, she settled on Bramhall Avenue to raise her children. Susan was employed by the Jersey City Police Department as a school traffic guard for 9 years; she was only one year away from retiring. Although she has led a short life, her memory shall live on through her beloved family and friends. Surviving to cherish Susan's precious memory are her loving children, Raymond, Joseph and Catherine Kozar; beloved parents; Paul and Mildred Stavar; a dear brother Paul Stavar; cherished fianc?, Michael J. Harrison; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and bountiful friends. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday 12:00 noon, Assumption All Saints Church, 344 Pacific Avenue, Jersey City; visitation, Thursday, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., at Jackson Funeral Residence and Friday, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon at the church; interment, Bayview Cemetery, Jersey City. My kids go to OLC, and we saw her all the time. When did she die? She wasn't old.

Very sad.

I was sad to see a chalk heart drawn on the sidewalk at the corner of Grand and Marin this morning announcing the death of Sue, the crossing guard who patrolled the intersection for years. She always started my morning off on a positive note and I will miss her dearly on my morning commute. Does anyone know what happened?
