Thanks ErieSt and Workerbee.

I think I will try Yoga Shunya in JC. Parking is easier and I can walk there too. They offer 2 classes a week Thurs 5:30 and Saturday 3:45... which works for me :)

They also offer Mommy and Baby classes once a week.

ErieSt... I will probably see you there soon... Thanks!

I also went to Devotion Yoga in Hoboken for prenatal yoga--summer of 2006. I thought the instructor was very good and also gave good birthing tips in addition to the yoga. It is right by the PATH and Hoboken Light Rail Stations, and they also have Yoga classes for Moms and young babies if you are looking for something to do while on maternity leave (or if you're a full-time mom). I did find that if you are not that far along in the pregnancy it is a little "easy", but when you are big the intensity level (low) is plenty! I am expecting another baby and plan to take a few classes there again.

Here is the website:

Yoga Shunya is wonderful and Elaine is a great, great prenatal yoga teacher. I did yoga for most of my first pregnancy and I do think it helped me out a lot, not only during the pregnancy itself (particularly the last trimester) but also during childbirth. I'm expecting my second and I'm doing it again. I cannot recommend it enough - come!!

Hi

I am looking into the Prenatel Yoga classes at Yoga Shunya. Has anyone else have taken Prenatel classes here? How was your experience?

Any other recommendations in the area would be greatly appreciated.

www.yogashunya.com

There are a couple of pre-natal classes on the schedule. I've only taken level 1 classes with Elaine, but she teaches a pre-natal as well and is a great teacher.

Hi,

I am not sure about now, but when I was pregnant (almost 2 years ago) there were no classes offered in JC. I ended up going to Hoboken to Devotion Yoga for my prenatal class. The instructor was really good and a mother herself. it is very close to the path station. The class is offered on sundays... which is very convenient for us working moms.
Good luck!

Yoga Shunya is a wonderful studio. I haven't done prenatal (no kids) but I have seen pregnant ladies in level one classes and seen the instructors be really good about alternate poses, etc. I know they have at least one dedicated pre-natal class.

They are on Grove, above the Majestic. They have a website as well.

Hi there,

Just wondering if any JC moms/moms-to-be have done any prenatal yoga in the area and if there are any recommendations about studios, instructors, etc.

Thanks!
