Went there on Monday night. Had a blast. Didn't try anything on the menu but I think the kitchen wasn't open yet. Had a couple of cocktails and a few pints of beer. Owner bought me a shot. Nice guy. Nice to see they had Chimay on tap. In short I had a great time there and the atmosphere was a vast improvement from when it was the ale house.

Is Hamilton Inn open yet? If so, anyone have any reviews they'd like to share?

Just met the new owner. Tonight is a friends and family opening. Tomorrow and Wednesday are a "soft" opening and Thursday is the grand opening. He gave me a menu and it looks great.

Walked by the place last night. The guys outside putting lights on the trees said it would be open this Wednesday. Looks beautiful inside.

Walked past the Hamilton Inn last night on the way home from the Embankment (where the service was at an all-time low ---- it was really abysmal).

Anyway, the Inn had some activity ---- lights on, TV on, a few people seated at tables, and a bartender behind the rails. Might have just been a private pre-opening gathering.

Can't wait!

Asked a couple of guys standing outside when they were opening. They said they're opening on Monday with the full menu available by Thursday of next week.

I just saw an add for servers etc needed for the Hamilton Inn. One more step closer to opening.

Today I saw new chairs, tables and barstools being loaded into the Hamilton Inn. I am guessing they settled the closing issues.

Just walked by and looked in the front door - they are very busy in there! The new floor and walls look really good!

That is quite a pleasant surprise. If the food is any good I'll be there all the time.

Let's hope the owner doesn't reopen. He sucked at running a restaurant in addition to being a total douche.

While it would be nice if he Ale House reopened, I would hardly say the lack of options around here are depressing. Both Embankment and White Star are good options despite individual tastes.

If the current owner doesn't capitulate to the demands of the latest buyer or another buyer, he's going to become incredibly insolvent if he isn't already and have to give the place away. Then eventually someone else will swoop in and take the place at some rock bottom bargain and make it awesome.

It's just all going to take awhile.

We heard from 2 different people that it fell through. Maybe the owner will reopen (now that someone else remodeled) or has found someone else.

Lights were on this morning and movement was seen inside - along with the new name on the windows I do hope all is okay. I'm looking forward to the new place.

I hope I'm wrong but I heard the deal for the restaurant fell through even though the new buyers put a ton of money into renovating the place. Like I said, I hope this is not the case, but I heard from pretty reputable source. Something needs to go in there because it is depressing how little we have to choose from around here.

They painted "Hamilton Inn" in the window.
Guess there's no turning back now.

Yup, that's the one.

That's what I heard at any rate.

Of course i wasn't at the deal table. But it certainly wouldn't surprise me.

Is the 'seller' the same guy who bought the place from Maggy... the same guy who bought too many big TVs?

He had been a poster on here so maybe he will chime in.

Rumor has it that there is a lien on the property and that is preventing its re-opening. Have to say that I'm sort of bummed.

I've not seen anything happening in there in over a week. And I've heard a rumor (from a loyal patron of the Maggie-era Ale House) that there's been trouble transferring the lease to the new tenant so that things have been called off.

Sorry that's so vague, but that's the state of my knowledge.

I cant wait for this HPAH to open. Does anybody know the owner to maybe get some insight as to when he'll open? The embankment is so so. They got a couple bitchy waiters that turn me off and I've had more than a couple of crappy eats there.

The new owner of the HPAH should hang a portrait of Maggie in the place.

You might want to just go to the Embankment while you wait.
