Does anyone know if this was indeed the porn sting? I walked by this scene yesterday at about 5:00 and it looked like they had wrapped up some sort of raid, and you just KNOW it wasn't about undocumented workers. . . .

Five Hudson men caught in nationwide kiddie porn sweep
Five Hudson County men were among 125 people arrested nationwide, accused of subscribing to hard-core child pornography sites that included children as young as infants engaged in sex acts with adults, federal officials announced this afternoon.

"Our intention is to attack child pornography at all levels ? including the demand that fuels the market in child exploitation," U.S. Attorney Christopher Christie said of the sweep, dubbed Operation Emissary.

"This case should clearly demonstrate to those pedophiles who believe that the Internet provides them with anonymity, that they are clearly mistaken. The Internet has a global reach, but so do we," Christie said.

Officials said 17 New Jersey residents were charged, among them Michael Brown, 51, a grocery store clerk, and Micah Reagor, 29, a chef, of Jersey City; Jason Faccibene, 32, a telecommunications worker, and George Payne, 34, an information technology manager, of Hoboken; and Kearny resident William Morehouse, 63, a medical supply representative.

Federal prosecutors say the New Jersey men possessed or received child pornography on their home or work computers.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) took over both what the INS (Immigration Naturalization Service) and the Customs folks used to do. Also, ICE was moved from the Department of Justice (DOJ), which used to supervise the INSA, to the Dept. of Homeland Security. So any immigration or customs bust likely would have a vehicle that mentions both ICE and it's boss, Homeland Security.

Now that is clarified, and making NO ACCUSATIONS WHATSOEVER, I really hope that the ICE agents were there for CDs/DVDs and not this . . .

http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/10/18/child.porn/index.html

which was run, in part, by ICE and which went down today . . . yuck.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement maybe? Does the store sell DVD/CD's by any chance? Just a guess not an accusation.

As long as the dog wasn't IN the store, I'm cool with it. Because that would be gross and illegal.

Immigration and "importation" something, I think. A K-9 unit, with a dog in the back. I only saw two guys with uniforms, one taking pictures as the other was coming out of the store. Maybe they've been smuggling cigarettes.

I saw that too, I caught the tail end as they were out of there but I am curious as to what was going on. The "immigration" police vehicle caught my eye. I can't remember exactly what it was (immigration & homeland security maybe?) - just remember seeing immigration on the side of it.

Passed by the store on Grove Street (tween columbus and wayne) with the newpapers outside. There were about 10-12 cops inside the place in addition to a Homeland Security vehicle outside. Anyone know what's up?
