More than $22K raised for funeral expenses of 4-year-old student

JERSEY CITY ? Family and friends of the 4-year-old Jersey City student who was found unresponsive in his classroom and later died have opened their hearts and purse strings.

More than 400 people have raised $22,324 to help with funeral arrangements for the Cordero School student, who never woke up after ?nap time? Thursday and then was pronounced dead at the RWJBarnabas Health Jersey City Medical Center.

Officials mum on probe into Jersey City preschooler?s death

JERSEY CITY ? The day after a preschooler died after being found unresponsive at a Jersey City school, officials are mum about their investigation into the boy?s death.

Hudson County Prosecutor?s Office spokesman Ray Worrall confirmed on Thursday his office is looking into the incident. Requests for comment on the progress of the investigation were not returned on Friday.

4-year-old dies after found unresponsive at Jersey City school

JERSEY CITY ? A Jersey City neighborhood is in mourning after a four-year-old student of School 37 died Thursday afternoon.

The boy was unresponsive after taking a nap at the school and was taken away in an ambulance at dismissal time, school officials confirmed.

The preschool student was taken to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, the officials said. A spokeswoman for the hospital could not be reached to comment.
