There will be no impact on operations, but passengers may hear the sound of simulated gunfire.

The Port Authority will conduct an emergency response drill at the Journal Square PATH Station from 12:30 a.m. to 5 a.m. on Saturday, August 18. Passengers using the station or passing by during those hours may hear the sound of simulated gunfire or notice emergency vehicles as part of the exercise.

The drill will not impact operations, but the lower level concourse of the station will be closed to the public during the training. Signs will be posted in the area to provide information on the drill, and PATH customer service personnel will be on hand to assist passengers. The exercise will be closed to the media.

Saturday's exercise will focus on the PATH's emergency plan for mutual aid response, enabling PATH personnel and local emergency response organizations to train together and validate response procedures. The exercise will include Port Authority police and other staff, along with local partners.
