I almost had a collision yesterday with someone speeding and ignoring the markers who all of a sudden appeared from the right in my blind spot. I have created a SeeClickFix issue which people can comment or vote on. Barriers or hatching may help, or a sign warning of new road layout, or they could get rid altogether.

Is this work related to the new building on the corner across from Dickinson? They had construction trucks staged in the wonky white line area today when I passed by. I think the traffic cones helped a bit, but it's still weird.

If this is some half assed attempt at "traffic calming" to slow vehicles going down the hill we should be pissed. Someone's going to get hurt in that zig-zagging.

Cops were parked in the new zones and cones were placed along the swerve lines this morning. What exactly are they repairing or building there to do warrant this change to normal traffic?

Looks like they tried to erase it. Might have been temporary parking for construction vehicles? Terrible job all around.

I've been trying to navigate this for a few days now - watching cars alternating between ignoring it and following it. Is it permanent?

What is the point of it? Seems an insane thing to do on a very busy street. Does it have anything at all to do with the cemetery entrance or is that incidental?

It's incredible confusing having to take a really wide swing like that, and I think it was irresponsible of the city to paint it without putting up stanchions or a divider of some kind. You're right that someone is going to get into a head-on collision soon. I imagine they did it to reduce the speed of people going down Newark Ave, but that huge left swing is very strange.

Anyone know whether the new lane marking on Newark Avenue hear the cemetery entrance is permanent ? It's barely visible and some people are following it while others are completely ignoring it. I think it's only a matter of time before someone following it collides with someone ignoring it.
