Unique Jersey City 'Stations' has a simple message: End the violence

JERSEY CITY - Alisa French never met Ahmin Colclough, but on Friday she paid tribute to the 20-year-old who was killed on Forrest Street in September.

Standing in front of the garage where Colclough was gunned down, French, a School 24 teacher, hammered a nail into a wooden cross as a group of more than 100 men, women, and children prayed and sang hymns.

It was the fifth stop along the Good Friday Stations of the Cross organized by a group of local churches. Each station marks the location where a violent crime has been committed over the past year.

"By being here, I feel like I'm joining to take back our city," French said.
