3 hours and 15 minutes at the fire station on Marin and Eighth having arrived at 7:15. They did have two machines for Ward 9, but only one operating because they were short people. Complete fucking debacle. Line had only grown by the time I was done, was wrapped around the corner up by the ballfield.

I've voted in Jersey City for the last 15 years and never waited more than 5-10 minutes to vote.
Today, it was an 1 1/2 hr wait. Grace Church had a total of 4 voting booths (as it always have
been for the last 15 years) for 3 different districts and over 100 people waiting in five
different lines. Like the previous posters, do not get upset with the people that are
working at these stations. They are all volunteers and it isn't their fault for this setup.
We need to complain to the Hudson County Board of Elections to get this "fixed" for
future elections.

(This is the first election in my life that I had to wait to vote - and I'm old.)

By Corey McDonald | The Jersey Journal
on November 08, 2016 at 10:51 AM

JERSEY CITY -- Hudson County voters have packed polling centers, causing long lines and delays of an hour or more to vote throughout Jersey City.

Residents have complained of long waits and even longer lines on Twitter on other various social media sites, with voting officials saying this has been one of the busiest election days in recent history.

"When I came at 5:30 a.m., there was already a line outside of the school," said Allen Roth, an election official at P.S. 28 ? the Christa McAuliffe School. "As soon as 6 a.m. came, it was very busy. And it's been busy since."

Roth, 52, has been running polling centers for over 6 years and says this has been easily one of the biggest turnouts for an election he's seen.

Has anyone voted at McNair today? They usually have 2 booths, and we as well have never waited more than 1-2 people deep for any election.

I don't know that this is the answer, but hear me out. If we voted in all of the local elections (like technically we all should be doing) it would be obvious we need more voting booths.

I've voted in every election here since 2010. Never waited longer than 4/5 minutes. Been waiting an hou and a half. This is bonkers!

Metropolis Towers was ugly @ 7:00am. One booth in building, app. 50 people deep to vote, 20 in line to get ballot.

People living in the building voted in 2nd building which had 2 booths... going to be a long day for the volunteers at the polls. Be nice to them and be patient. This isn't their fault.

Only one booth per district at Dr. Michael Conti school as well - took about an hour and a half to vote and I arrived around 7:30am.

A second voting machine arrived at Cordero around 8:15 a.m., which helped matters immensely.

You can thank Barbara Netchert for this, as usual. Would love to meet her in person someday and ask why is there a different sh--show with every election?

I'm just so sick of it, but of course she's been running unopposed for I don't know how many elections, so the number of voting machines wouldn't matter as far as getting her re-elected.

Who is behind this?

Time for conspiracy theories...

There were at least 200 people in line at Ferris around 8. I've never been behind more than a handful of people before (either here or at Grace Church). I didn't see how many booths there were, but there have always been two in the past from what I recall.

Same at the Conti School. Two districts vote here and there's one machine for each district. Over an hour wait right now.

Never had to wait more than 4-5 minutes in the past, even in the record breaking 2008 election. This is a surprise.

We have a lot of polling places, typically when I have voted there have only been 2 voting booths. I have lived in JC for 10 years and I think the longest I waited was like 10 minutes in 2008. I have also never walked more than a block and a half so I think they are all over the place in JC. That is why I assume there are so few.

My wife got up at 6am to vote this morning. She wandered across the street to the Cordero school polling station to find 18 people in line to vote at 6.25am.

When she reached the front of the line she discovered why: there is one single voting booth. Not a gym full of lines of voting booths, but a solitary stall situated in a hallway.

That one booth is supposed to allow how many people to vote?

WTF Jersey City?
